@Winnie216283755 @Gitmo99 "Toddlers can run off randomly." Tell me about it! Cats are easier to herd.
English

@Gitmo99 Those are toddlers--not kindergarteners. If they were kindergarteners, it would be debatable to keep them tied together because at that age (5-6) they should be able to hold hands in pairs and follow the teacher. Toddlers can run off randomly. This system is safe and makes sense.
English

An Atlanta kindergarten teacher was fired after using a safety tether rope to keep 12 children together during a park field trip. A parent filmed the children "tied up" and accused the teacher of humiliation, leading to termination over school image concerns.
The incident sparked a debate, with some viewing the method as degrading and others arguing it was a necessary safety measure for young children in public. #HIAW 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

@Geniustechw especially with anyone who presents the possibility.
English

no, but I know of people who went to a music festival in the Middle Est who were slaughtered, kidnapped, raped and murdered.
Registering for Selective Service has been the law since 1980, for males only. Now the registration is automatic. There is no draft.
@chelseahandler but you have never been truthful in your social outrage.

@Osint613 The problem is that weak and feckless leadership on our part has allowed them to get away with this posturing for decades. Democrats hear this and start waving white flags.

NEW: Irans National Security Spokesman Ebrahim Rezaei to President Trump: “The Best Course Is to Surrender”
“As of today, our restraint is over. Any aggression against our vessels will be met with a heavy and decisive Iranian response against American vessels and bases.
The clock is ticking against the Americans' interests; it is to their benefit not to act foolishly and sink themselves deeper into the quagmire they have fallen into.
The best course is to surrender and concede concessions. You must get used to the new regional order.”

@jackunheard I say put a wall around that city and let them fend for themselves.
English

@Geniustechw Made them like the French woman who collaborated with the Nazi.

@TheRob1772 not surveillance, surveillance dad. He'll wish it was surveillance state.

Testing the waters with this question.
This has got me really conflicted.
My son is 16, today he finishes Driver's Ed. He'll be taking his driver's test Fri. He's a great driver, I'm actually impressed at how well he's doing so I have no doubts he'll pass.
Here's the question. Do I put one of those tracking apps on his phone or do I do like when I got my license or when my oldest daughter got hers.
My opposition to the surveillance state, my opposition to modernity and trying to embrace the way I grew up makes it hard to justify.
I'm at odds with myself over this. Thoughts?

@DwarvenConstit1 @ReliabilityComp @lippyent You can thank Ronnie Raygun for that. 5 years earlier it was hard to find a job.
English

@DwarvenConstit1 @lippyent Yea, when and where was this?
English

@lippyent Yah.. but we also could just walk into a local store and ask for a job and get hired on the spot
It was a very different world.
English

@lippyent Milk cartons? We had to use cinder blocks.
English

@Scarknuckle_ @ClownWorld Then don't work for a place that does this. They are stealing your tips.
English

Can you not read the fucking bottom? Sure don’t tip your coffee barista, but tip your fucking serving or stay home you piece of fucking trash. Back when I served and bartending I would have quit if it was just an hourly job. Part of doing it is giving superb service and working for my money. If you disagree you can suck my fucking dick after I slap your face and make you bend the knee.
English

@ClownWorld No, despite hatever stupidity they put on the bottom of the receipt.
English

@DOWResponse TDS bots came out in force on this one. Keyboard warriors can't stand Hegseth.
English

@Se_psybastian @HistorianUSA1 It is not complensation.
The lunch break is uncompensated.
English

@HistorianUSA1 Can someone explain to me? What’s the difference between compensation and payment? She says lunches are part of her compensation, but she needs to be clocked out, and are unpaid. So how is that compensation?
English

Let’s get your opinion on this: would you push back like she did?
Here’s the situation. Her boss sent her home for taking her 30-min unpaid lunch that was literally in her contract/hiring notes.
While no federal law requires lunch breaks, some states require employers to provide one (30 min unpaid, fully off-duty) for 6+ hr shifts. You can’t just force ‘eat at your desk while working’—that doesn’t count.
Now, if her contract is indeed legally binding, the boss can’t magically delete it.
What are your thoughts on this?
