@sappholives83 @4thdegreeofmom My ex-brother-in-law is in prison right now for what he did to his daughters. He absolutely took screenshots of young girls from the internet- even innocent ones. His son found them. He is currently up for parole and we are praying he doesn’t get out.

PSA: Don’t post pictures of your kids or grandkids online. This is really important. When I worked sex crimes, we’d often find photos of random kids, and sometimes even info from parents’ Facebook accounts on suspects’ hard drives. This was non-sexual material that was nevertheless being used as fuel for fantasies. Sometimes the images would be altered to make them pornographic. More importantly, there was evidence of escalation in some cases — driving past houses, taking pictures at schools, that sort of thing. I never saw it escalate to abduction, but in a few cases it was clearly heading that way, and I’d be very surprised if it hasn’t done so elsewhere in the country. Unless you have your social media accounts locked down so that only friends and family can access it, don’t risk it — and even then, I personally wouldn’t take the chance.

@BenBird53920553 I read the Work and the Glory series when I was 13 in 2000… and when polygamy came up in the books I wasn’t surprised because I already knew about it. Plus it was definitely discussed/taught in my seminary classes and in my religion classes at BYUI. No surprises here…

I served a Mormon mission from 2002 - 2004. None of us missionaries knew that Joseph Smith practiced polygamy. I was never taught that as a Mormon kid. I don't think I found out until I was in my mid-twenties, and I didn't find out about it at church. I found out about it online.

“Why haven’t you ever heard of this?” Maybe cause you never looked at what is literally right on our website. Hahaha (Seriously this is taught in all Church history classes)

@FiredUpCoug I hate this policy too. My older boys are in 8th and 9th grade and both have ADHD (and love to procrastinate). We’ve had so many meltdowns at the end of each term that my husband and I set up our own rules of no missing assignments. It has been so helpful. Kids need deadlines.

“Why do you have an F in science!?” “Don’t worry, Dad. It’ll be an A by the end of the term. My teacher lets us turn in assignments whenever we want with no penalty.” Is this a familiar conversation for other parents on X? I hate this policy. I’m sure teachers see it as compassionate, and I understand the instinct. But “do it whenever you feel like it and turn it in late with no consequence” is not kindness. It is reaching our kids that deadlines are suggestions, procrastination has no cost, and urgency is optional. That is not how the world works after graduation. A little flexibility is good. Grace matters. But grace without any expectations does NOT prepare kids for adulthood.

The only thing I’m bummed about with this whole class change up, is that we have to wait until September. Can we please start sooner?👀

To anyone complaining about the new timetable for lessons in Church.. Just remember that the apostles usually deliver an entire conference talk in 15 minutes.. So just do better at packing your 20+ minutes with good content and then let the spirit do the teaching.

@theficouple People freaking out at the food budget… it really depends on where you live. Our budget is $1500 for a family of 7. It’s pretty dang realistic, especially when you have teenagers.

A "normal" 2026 budget for couples in their 30's: - Housing: $2,500/mo - Food: $1,400/mo - Transportation: $1,450/mo - Healthcare: $980/mo - Childcare: $1,283/mo - Student loans: $1,000/mo Total: $8,613/mo ...this is why people feel making $10,000/mo is poverty.
