I hate to say this, but why did we sign Soto?
Signing Soto to 15/765 should have been "go time". Should have signed an ace or two last off season. Should have kept Pete or been on Schwarber.
Why sign Soto then penny pinch? I just don't get it.

this is such a funny thing to say when the mets started the off-season with like five glaring holes in their roster that needed to be dealt with, addressed absolutely none of them, and then added like three new holes just for fun

Wrote this in the column: Unemotionally parting ways with popular players and breaking up the team’s core makes me wonder if Stearns is underestimating the long-term negative impact those moves will have on the overall buy-in from the fan base, as well as the potential ripple effect within the clubhouse.
