Imperfect solution or just another way to shovel 💰to Weston?

Physicians cannot own pharmacies in Ontario because it was recognized there may be a significant bias to overprescribe since each prescription would yield additional income.
However @fordnation @SylviaJonesMPP continue to add to a list of problems that pharmacists can Rx for.

@LessIsMoreMed @DocMCohen Don’t they already? Surgeons “prescribe” surgery then do the surgery. Dentists “prescribe” braces then provide them. Optometrists- glasses. And they all make money from it. How is that not a conflict of interest?

@DocMCohen The conflict of interest does not seem to be a concern to our governments. If it is not a big deal, they should let physicians dispense and sell patients whatever device, drug, potion they like.
(Obviously that is a terrible idea)

What may appear as a minor issue could very well be something serious underneath & the med they would prescribe could actually harm a patient. Nurse Practitioners are also not Drs. and do not have all the qualifications of a Dr.
