I was in a queue at a POS stand in Lagos when a little boy, maybe 10 years old, walked up. He handed the agent ₦500 and said, “Aunty, help me send it to my mummy.” The agent asked, “Where is your mummy dey?” He replied, “Hospital.” Everyone went quiet. She asked again, “Why did you not go with her?” The boy looked down and said, “The doctor said they won’t touch her until we bring money.” Nobody spoke for a few seconds. Then the woman behind me stepped forward and said, “How much do they need?” Before you knew it, strangers started contributing. That day, I realised something: In Nigeria, people are struggling, but they still show up for one another.

A doctor posted that a nurse allegedly assaulted a house officer at AEFUTHA and people in the comments were surprised it was a nurse 😂 Maybe because when roles are reversed, it’s often nurses that usually take the hit. But as a nurse, I will never support any form of assault. If the nurse is found guilty, they should face the consequences. Professionalism should apply to everyone, no matter the title.

@_chiceeeyyy @H8DramaSoBad Mine is @MTNNG has never given me any reward since 2005 when I started using my mtn Sim. That's 21yrs now and counting. Same Sim, same number I have upgraded the same Sim too yet they have collected more than 100m of subscription from me. This is not a joke. They can do the math

My dad has been using MTN since I knew him with same number for over 20 years, and in all of these 20yrs he has never borrowed one kobo from MTN Do you know how MTN decided to reward him? They imposed a debt on him. For the past 3 weeks, Anytime he buys data/airtime they’ll take it and say he’s owing My dad is paying MTN money he didn’t borrow. Mind you, he has been to MTN’s office and they told him they’ll resolve it but they didn’t This is the number everyone knows him with for over 20yrs, he can’t just discard it This is so unfair 💔

@ArcSadam The guy could've taken the girl to the hospital. She could be in a deep coma, suspended animation etc. Only a Dr could've certified her. The @PoliceNG can peruse the scene very well with forensic scientists and/or pathologists to unravel any sinister and/or natural occurrences.

Girl D!£s in Her Sleep p at the Home of Man She Visited A young Nigerian girl from school visited a man in Awka, Anambra State, Nigeria. After they had intercourse, both went to sleep. Sadly, the girl d!3d during the night and never woke up. The exact cause of her d34th is still unknown. It could be sudden illness, overdose, or other reasons. The story has gone viral on social media, sparking many questions and debates. Awka, like a typical university town, often sees such visits by students. This sad event reminds everyone of the dangers of casual 53x and the need to know one's health status. Details are not yet confirmed. May the young girl rest in peace

Dear @MTNNG you people are thieves and stealing from the citizens. How did I finish 75GB data in less than a week? I didn’t go on Instagram, I didn’t go on TikTok, I didn’t watch Netflix or YouTube, I was just tweeting. Enough is enough, we should start gathering at the front of MTN office this week to protest. This is not acceptable.

I just confirmed that @MTNNG steals data from their users‼️‼️💔 I’ve been having suspicions that MTN have been stealing data because of the rate at which my data finishes so fast even if I don’t download anything So yesterday by 3:52 PM I bought 11GB data for 3500 naira I put my phone on power saving mode so no app in the background will be able to use data I didn’t download or upload any videos and I’ve been using my phone lightly. I felt like all this wasn’t enough so i decided to download an app that tracks my data usage This afternoon MTN sent me a message that I have just 4GB of data left Checked the app and saw I used only 3GB from the 11GB I bought yesterday Now my question to MTN is this If I used 3GB from 11GB that means I should have 8GB left Why do I have just 4GB left? Where did my remaining 4GB go??? All evidence attached in the screenshots below👇👇👇 We need to call out MTN for these recent thefts as I’m sure I’m not the only one facing this problem

Fellow Nigerians, good morning. I woke up this morning after my church service with a deeply reflective heart, and despite every constraint, I felt compelled to share these thoughts with you. Many people do not truly understand the silent pains some of us carry daily—the private struggles, emotional burdens, and quiet battles we face while trying to survive and serve sincerely in difficult circumstances. We now live in an environment that has become increasingly toxic, where the very system that should protect and create opportunities for decent living often works against the people—a society where intimidation, insecurity, endless scrutiny, and discouragement have become normal. More painful is when some of those you associate with, believing you would find understanding and solidarity among them, become part of the pressure you face. Some who publicly identify with you privately distance themselves or join in unfair criticism. We live in a society where humility is mistaken for weakness, respect is seen as a lack of courage, and compassion is treated as foolishness—a system where treating people equally is questioned simply because you refuse to worship status, tribe, class, or power. Personally, I have never looked down on anyone except to uplift them. I have never used privilege, position, or resources to oppress others, intimidate the weak, or make people feel small. To me, leadership has always been about service, sacrifice, and helping others rise. Let me state clearly: my decision to leave the ADC is not because our highly respected Chairman, Senator David Mark, treated me badly, nor because my leader and elder brother, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, or any other respected leaders did anything personally wrong to me. I will continue to respect them. However, the same Nigerian state and its agents that created unnecessary crises and hostility within the Labour Party that forced me to leave now appear to be finding their way into the ADC, with endless court cases, internal battles, suspicion, and division, instead of focusing on deeper national problems and playing politics built more on control and exclusion than on service and nation-building. Even within spaces where one labours sincerely, one is sometimes treated like an outsider in one’s own home. You and your team become easy targets for every failure, frustration, or misunderstanding, as though honest contribution has become a favour being tolerated rather than appreciated. And when you choose to leave so that those you are leaving can have peace, and you step out into the cold, you are still maligned and your character is questioned. Despite all your efforts to continue working for a better Nigeria and engaging people with sincerity and goodwill, those who do not wish you well continue to attack your character and question your intentions. There are moments I ask God in prayer: Why is doing the right thing often misconstrued as wrongdoing in our country? Why is integrity not valued? Why is the prudent management of resources, especially when invested in critical areas like education and healthcare, wrongly labelled as stinginess? Why are humility and obedience to the rule of law often taken to be weakness rather than discipline? Let me assure all that I am not desperate to be President, Vice President, or Senate President. I am desperate to see a society that can console a mother whose child has been kidnapped or killed while going to school or work. I am desperate to see a Nigeria where people will not live in IDP camps but in their homes. I am desperate for a country where Nigerian citizens do not go to bed hungry, not knowing where their next meal will come from. Yet, despite everything, I remain resolute. I firmly believe that Nigeria can still become a country with competent leadership based on justice, compassion, and equal opportunity for all. A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO

There is one popular church in Nigeria ( actually one of the Biggest) the Pastor is always preaching against vaccines, His Members too were on an Anti Vaccine spree campaign. Apparently, the Church's hospital offers vaccination services. Even on World Hepatitis Day, the Church was raising awareness that people should get vaccinated against Hepatitis B via their media pages on IG and LinkedIn The day we called them out, The Church went to delete all their LinkedIn posts supporting vaccination and also on Ig. They even went to edit and remove the hospital's services which previously said , they offered vaccination vaccination services They deleted it. Guess the Church?

If your car gets bad at night in Abuja, leave the car immediately and run away from it to a crowded place and call for help first. If you remain with the car, there is a high chance you will get robbed. 1. Mabushi both on top of the bridge and under the bridge,I have been robbed there myself. 2. Airport road right from the city gate down to Giri etc. 3.kubwa express way all through, unless where those army barracks is,but be careful. 4.From APO bridge down to kugbo etc. 5. From zone 4 total filling station,to Wuse market gate. 6. From zone one all through GSM village down to area 10 garki etc. Just be careful around Abuja at night, leave your car and run away first, don't stand there with it oooo.

I just saw the video of Carter Efe’s pre-fight medical examination and as a doctor, my heart skipped a beat for all the wrong reasons. If this is the standard of "clearing" athletes for a high-stakes ₦100 million fight, we need to talk about athlete safety in Nigeria. Here are 3 things I saw that were medically "off": 1. Abdominal palpation must be done while the patient is lying flat (supine). Sitting up tenses the muscles and hides the organs. You cannot feel for an enlarged liver or spleen this way and a ruptured spleen from a gut punch is a surgical emergency. 2. Connecting a BP cuff while simultaneously moving the patient is wrong. To get a valid reading, the patient must be still and the arm supported at heart level. Moving around makes the result useless. 3. Checking for anaemia (pallor) requires a steady look in good lighting. Doing it "quickly" while doing three other things means the examiner is just acting. If a boxer is anaemic, they are at high risk of fainting or heart failure under the stress of a fight. This wasn't a medical clearance; it was a photo op. For a ₦100M fight, the promoters are treating the medical check like a comedy skit, but the risks are 100% real.

@Dr_Afo This is a 2-way thing. I have residents who don't want to be mentored while their are others who are even dragging me to mentor them both from and outside my Dept. So what's your take on this?

My advise to those going into residency is that don't go into it blindly. Don't say yes I'd do the residency because you don't have any other option. I've clocked that there's a severe lack of mentorship in Nigerian residency space. Because of this, many people have wasted months & years because they missed an update, study materials or they didn't start their research on time. Please try to get a mentor as soon as possible. Don't wait on your laurels. Please reach out to those who have passed through this same residency. You need to have all the information so you can finish in record time.
