I attended the 31st Annual Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony. The names of officers from across the Midwest who died in the line of duty over the last year were honored. We also took time to reflect on and recognize the officers from our own area who made the ultimate sacrifice.

This is actually incredible. @GovEvers own staff has no idea how revenue limits work and doesn’t understand that the general aid increase in the spending deal was simply a buy down of property taxes rather than an increase in resources that districts could spend. A revenue limit is not the same as a levy limit. When the state spends more on general education aid like this and does not increase the revenue limit, it simply shifts spending from property taxes to the state. No additional resources were being added from a general aid perspective. It is unfathomable to me that the governor’s own staff does not understand how this works. Wow.

I was glad to attend the ribbon cutting for the Doris Wiles Center of Hope. Adriana has worked incredibly hard to make this dream a reality, and I wish her the best of luck in the new location. This will be a wonderful place for children to learn, grow, and play.
