Today, we mourn the passing of United States Senator Lindsey Graham, a fierce advocate for the people of South Carolina.  May his memory be a blessing to his family and friends. Born in Upstate South Carolina, tragedy struck Lindsey early in his life.  After he graduated from high school, Lindsey’s mother and father passed away within 15 months of each other, leaving him without parents and his 13-year-old sister orphaned.  Lindsey shifted his focus to raising and caring for his sister, assuming a responsibility few can imagine at that age. The resilience and sense of duty he developed during those difficult years would come to define a lifetime of service. For 33 years, Lindsey served our Country in the United States Air Force.  He was awarded the Bronze Star for meritorious service shortly before retiring as a Colonel. For 31 years, Lindsey served in the United States Congress, and became one of the most influential lawmakers in our Country. Lindsey’s unexpected passing also affirms a profound truth: every day we live is a gift and a blessing from God.

Today, I visited Atlanta Regional Airport to celebrate a $10 million investment in aviation safety from the @FAANews. Atlanta Regional Airport is one of the best airports for general aviation in the country, and I am proud to be its champion in Congress. Also known as Falcon Field, this airport has long been a catalyst for economic growth in my hometown of Peachtree City and this investment from our federal government will improve safety, optimize operational efficiency, and create jobs across Fayette County and Georgia’s 3rd Congressional District. Thank you to Aviation Director Hope Macaluso and the entire Falcon Field team for working with me to deliver this investment in our community!

As kickoff awaits, Fayette County, Georgia is immensely proud to be the brand new home of @USSoccer, its National Training Center, and the talented staff who work tirelessly to grow the game and develop winning teams. The Men’s National Team (@USMNT) we’ll see play Belgium tonight, trained here — in Fayette County — in the days leading up to the FIFA World Cup. The National Training Center extends across 200 acres and features 13 regulation size fields and a state-of-the-art indoor facility, which now serves as the home for all of U.S. Soccer’s 27 national teams. GO USA! 🇺🇸 ⚽️ 🦅

Happy Independence Day to all! Today, our country celebrates its 250th birthday, a triumphant achievement and a testament to God’s blessing upon us. Across Georgia’s 3rd Congressional District, we will commemorate our semiquincentennial anniversary with parades, fireworks displays, and reflections on our Founding Fathers’ bravery. On this day in 1944, over 34,000 American soldiers crowded together in small, amphibious boats en route to Omaha Beach. As the boats landed on the beach, and their bow ramps dropped down leading the men ashore, unrelenting machine gun fire rained down from enemy bunkers. Undeterred, the American and Allied forces emerged from the battle victorious, but not without a heavy cost. Over 2,500 Americans died at Omaha Beach. One of them was 1st Lieutenant Thomas Royce Dallas Jr. from our Congressional District in Griffin, Georgia, who drew his last breath on the shores of Omaha Beach. As we remember the heroism Americans exhibited on D-Day and we reflect on the cost of freedom, may we remember and be inspired by the names and faces of those brave soldiers who died in service to our Country.

Today, we fully reopened the Tyrone Post Office! Before I was sworn into Congress, I promised to reopen the Tyrone Post Office, which had previously suffered extensive structural damage due to a fire.  As of today, the Tyrone Post Office is fully open for business. During a Congressional oversight hearing, I asked the Postmaster General to accelerate the Post Office’s reconstruction, which had been delayed for years.  He and his team swiftly reacted, and worked closely with my team to achieve this goal. Thank you to Tyrone Mayor Eric Dial and the Tyrone Town Council for your partnership and forceful advocacy, and thank you to Postmaster General David Steiner, and Kayla Dufrene, Brandy Jackson, and Sharon Alston of the Postal Service for your leadership on this important project.

Tonight, I was honored to partner with the @GoClingstones and host a Service Academy Night at the ballpark for six of the outstanding students I appointed to our country’s military service academies.  Sadly, the game was eventually rained out, but the fans were uplifted, as each appointee walked on the field with their families to be individually recognized on the jumbotron for their patriotism. As we reflect this week on the costly sacrifices made to defend our freedom, we are inspired by these young men and women preparing to attend the United States Military Academy at West Point, the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, and the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. Congratulations to Addison, Colson, Mahika, Matthew, Steven, and Travonte!

This morning, I was honored to join Coweta County veterans, families, and community leaders at Newnan’s Memorial Day Ceremony. Newnan is a community from which heroes are born.  Two of Georgia’s 27 Medal of Honor recipients were from Newnan, and dozens more have earned a Purple Heart.  At today’s ceremony, we honored one of those recipients, Private First Class James Alfred “Alf” Smith, a Newnan native, who was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart after sacrificing his life in service to our country during World War I. May the stories of these heroes continue to inspire us and the next generation of guardians of our freedom.

Today, we honor the lives of the brave warriors who died in service to our country’s Armed Forces. May their sacrifices and the heartbreak felt by their families remind us of the cost of freedom and the price of liberty on this solemn day of remembrance.

This week, Chairman Mike Bost and I led the effort to pass H.R.1041, the Veterans 2nd Amendment Act, which will restore the Constitutional right to keep and bear arms to over 250,000 veterans who were previously prevented from doing so, if they simply had a fiduciary. Thank you to Gun Owners of America for your steadfast support of our legislation!
Gun Owners of America@GunOwners

Democrats are desperately trying to gaslight Americans into believing veterans are not losing their 2A rights simply for having a fiduciary. Thanks to the work of @RepBost, @RepBrianJack, and @POTUS, veterans are one step closer to having this injustice permanently corrected.

I was honored to join the wonderful people of Spalding County today in celebration of the groundbreaking of the Griffin-Spalding Regional Airport.  This historic achievement was delivered through the collaboration of federal, state, and local stakeholders, and its construction will create more jobs and grow the economy across Georgia’s 3rd Congressional District. Thank you to the Under Secretary of Transportation Ryan McCormack (@USDOT), Lieutenant Governor Burt Jones (@LtGovJonesGA), and Spalding County leaders for participating in our ceremony today!

Today, we PASSED a new Farm Bill in the U.S. House of Representatives, for the first time since 2018. Introduced as the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026, this legislation delivers BIG WINS for farmers and consumers. Over 500 organizations — including the National Chicken Council and the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association — endorsed this bill. 209 Republicans, 14 Democrats, and 1 Independent voted YES on its passage.

Thank you to Georgia EMC (@Georgia_EMC) and electric membership cooperatives from across our Congressional District for visiting Capitol Hill today! We discussed support for the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Utilities Service, proposed legislation to expedite FEMA reimbursements, and the importance of permitting reform and its ability to lower costs for customers in our District.

Congratulations to the winners of the 2025 Congressional App Challenge: Omar, Juliet, Wade, and Alaina from Carrollton High School! The students’ application, “NxtSteps”, will help guide high school students through the college application process using interactive grade-level maps to help prospective college applicants reach critical milestones. I had the privilege of spending time with these incredible students and their wonderful families this week, and I was honored to recognize their achievement during a committee hearing on the app-based economy.   From academics to athletics, Carrollton High School continues to produce champions and inspire excellence.
