Two years ago today, during the attempted assassination of President Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, Corey Comperatore gave his life protecting his family. As gunfire erupted, he instinctively shielded his loved ones, demonstrating extraordinary courage and selflessness in the face of unimaginable danger. Please join me in continuing to pray for the Comperatore family and honoring Corey’s memory.

Stunned by the sudden passing of Sen. Lindsey Graham, one of America’s staunchest patriots and tireless advocates for Peace through Strength. I’ll always treasure his advice and words of encouragement when I was a new member of Congress. He will be deeply missed.

The Greater Sebring Chamber of Commerce hosted The Arc Ridge Area this week to highlight its work serving individuals with disabilities. Through education, job training, employment and housing opportunities, The Arc is helping more people build skills, gain independence and reach their full potential. I'm grateful for organizations that are making a difference in our communities.

This year's Fourth of July was especially meaningful as Americans gathered in our nation's capital to celebrate the 250th anniversary of American independence. Our team recently visited Florida Southern College to observe @LakelandPD’s Active Shooter Response Training. Exercises like these help ensure law enforcement officers are prepared to respond quickly and effectively when it matters most. Thank you to the dedicated men and women who continue training, strengthening their skills and standing ready to protect our communities.

As America marks 250 years of independence, we reflect on the vision, courage and sacrifice that gave birth to our nation. Today, we celebrate the freedoms that unite us and the brave men and women who have defended them throughout our history. Happy Independence Day!🇺🇸

America is more than a place. It is an idea rooted in liberty, self-government and the belief that free people can build a better future. This Fourth of July, we celebrate 250 years of the greatest nation on earth.

250 years ago today, on July 2, 1776, the Continental Congress voted for independence, setting America on the path to becoming the greatest nation in the world. Today, I joined a bipartisan group of colleagues at Independence Hall to reflect on that historic moment and the enduring principles of liberty, self-government and opportunity that continue to define our nation. As we begin celebrating America’s 250th birthday, may we never lose sight of the courage and conviction that made our independence possible.

Keeping children safe online is a responsibility we all share. That's why I voted for the Kids Internet and Digital Safety Act, which gives parents more tools, strengthens protections for children and teens, and sets new federal standards for online platforms. As more of childhood moves online, families deserve commonsense safeguards that help protect kids while empowering parents to make the best decisions for their children.

Before the fireworks, there was courage. This Independence Day, we remember the brave Americans who declared that our rights come from God, not government, and set our nation on the path of liberty.

Congratulations to the Polk County Board of County Commissioners on the grand opening of the new Fire Rescue Training Center. With classrooms, EMS training areas, a gym and fire towers, this new facility will help ensure Polk County's first responders have the training and resources they need to protect our communities for years to come.

This week's Supreme Court decision reaffirms that states have the authority to protect women's sports. For more than 50 years, Title IX has expanded opportunities for women and girls to compete. By upholding state laws that preserve women's and girls' athletic competition, this ruling is a victory for female athletes and the opportunities Title IX was designed to protect.

Our team was glad to lend a hand recently as Glades County participated in the Department of Agriculture's summer lunch program. Strong communities are built by neighbors helping neighbors, and we're always glad to do our part.

Great meeting with leaders from Haines City, Winter Haven, Lake Alfred and Bowling Green to discuss the challenges facing communities experiencing rapid growth in Florida. We discussed housing, infrastructure, transportation, water resources and opportunities to better connect local governments with federal resources. As our communities continue to grow, it’s important that local leaders have the tools they need to plan for the future and meet the needs of the people we serve. Working together helps ensure families, businesses and communities across FL-18 can continue to thrive.

One of the best parts of living in Florida is the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors year-round. From fishing and boating to hunting, hiking and time on the water, the outdoors are a way of life for many across FL-18. Great Outdoors Month is a reminder to appreciate the natural beauty we’ve been blessed with and the importance of preserving it for future generations.🌲☀️
