The 2026 IMSA Twelve Hour Fan Fest in Sebring marked the start of another exciting race week. It was good to see fans, community leaders, patriots from the Veterans Council of Highlands County, and Mayor John Shoop out for the event. These gatherings bring people together and highlight the racing tradition that makes Sebring known around the world.

Let this sink in, TSA agents are being forced to rely on public assistance due to the DHS shutdown. Morale is dropping. Callouts are rising. Security is being stretched thin. This is a failure of leadership. @SenateDems MUST act now.

Our team was honored to join folks from across Polk County in welcoming home one of our own, U.S. Army MAJ Cody A. Khork. It was a powerful reminder of the respect and gratitude we owe to those who serve and sacrifice for our nation. More than 20,000 people attended the Clewiston Sugar Festival to celebrate a tradition that has been a part of our community since 1936. Revived in 1986, this past weekend marked 40 years of honoring the hardworking families and deep agricultural heritage that makes this festival such a great showcase of FL-18.

Happy 101st birthday to Frank Blish, a proud World War II veteran of the Greatest Generation! As a member of the 101st Airborne “Screaming Eagles,” Frank fought at Normandy in the D-Day invasion and was wounded during the Battle of the Bulge. Our team was honored to celebrate this incredible milestone and thank him for his life of service to our nation.

Our team had a great time recently at both the Highlands County Fair and the Hardee County Fair. These events are a great reminder of what makes our rural communities so special, supporting our youth, celebrating agriculture, and bringing families together.

With threats from Iran and potential acts of terror under investigation here at home, Senator Schatz dismissing the situation as “serene” is deeply concerning. National security shouldn’t be a partisan talking point. The House has twice passed a bill to restore pay to the men and women at the Department of Homeland Security. Senate Democrats must stop grandstanding at the expense of Americans and restore DHS funding.

It was an honor to attend the Welcome Home Celebration for the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) Florida Flight of Honor, recognizing 119 women veterans from across the State of Florida. These remarkable women answered our nation’s call to serve, and it was a privilege to thank them personally for their sacrifice and dedication. I was also proud to present each veteran with a Certificate of Congressional Recognition and a challenge coin honoring their service to our nation. Welcome home, and thank you for your service! 🇺🇸
