✅APPROVED. NEXT STEP ➡️ HOUSE FLOOR. My FY27 National Security & State Dept funding bill was approved by @HouseAppropsGOP and reduces spending by 6% compared to the previously enacted level. Within the total cuts, the NSRP bill maintains robust funding for our allies like Israel, Jordan, Egypt, and Taiwan, and counters adversaries like Communist China, Iran, Venezuela, Cuba, and drug cartels, including those designated as Foreign Terrorist Organizations. The bill supports President @realDonaldTrump’s vision to refocus and realign foreign policy to make America safer, stronger, and more prosperous.

Yesterday, I chaired the @HouseScience Environment Subcommittee hearing on NOAA’s FY27 budget request. I’m encouraged to see targeted investments in the National Weather Service and the Office of Marine and Aviation Operations, including funding to modernize our fleet of weather-tracking vessels. As we continue to rein in spending across the federal government, we must keep NOAA focused on its core mission: protecting lives and property. I appreciate Administrator Jacobs’ engagement and look forward to continuing this work for Floridians.

A well-earned honor for a leader who has served Winter Haven well. Our team attended the rededication of the Brad Dantzler Tennis Center in recognition of former Mayor Bradley T. Dantzler’s years of service and his work to expand tennis, pickleball and quality-of-life opportunities for local families.

Our team had a great time at the “Keep America Moving” luncheon hosted by the Lakeland Chamber in partnership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. It was a valuable discussion on reauthorizing federal transportation programs and securing long-term, sustainable funding to keep our communities connected and support economic growth. Strong infrastructure is important for the continued growth and success of FL-18.

I had the opportunity to sit down with leadership of Ball Corporation to discuss the work they’re doing in Winter Haven and what’s necessary to keep American manufacturing strong. Their facility supports more than 165 well-paying jobs that help our local economy thrive.

In rural communities, seeing a doctor often means longer drives, fewer nearby providers and limited access to care. Families shouldn’t face extra barriers to basic health services simply due to geography.
This week, I voted for H.R. 2493, which helps support local providers, strengthen rural health systems and improve access closer to home so families are not forced to travel elsewhere for care.

At Florida Southern College this week, our team joined family, friends and local leaders to honor the life and service of U.S. Army MAJ Cody Khork at a Celebration of Life service. A 2014 graduate of FSC’s Moccasin Battalion ROTC program, he answered the call to serve our country with courage and conviction. We continue to pray for his loved ones and remain deeply grateful for his sacrifice.
