A traveling exhibit celebrating America’s 250th anniversary has arrived at Fort Hood’s National Mounted Warrior Museum, bringing the story of the nation’s founding directly to service members and their families. Across the country, Freedom 250 is connecting Americans to 250 years of history.

Fireworks will once again light the sky above Mount Rushmore National Memorial on July 3, 2026, as the nation celebrates the 250th anniversary of American independence. Set against the iconic carvings of Presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln, the celebration invites Americans to reflect on our nation’s remarkable journey and the leaders who helped shape it.
