Congratulations to all participants and winners of the competition. Your passions and talent are inspiring to all!

This May, we recognize Jewish American Heritage Month and celebrate the contributions and achievements of Jewish Americans. I’m proud to represent a district with such a thriving Jewish population and will continue to best represent my Jewish neighbors in the House of Representatives.

For six decades, the Voting Rights Act has protected Black Americans and other minorities from racial gerrymandering. Now, this Supreme Court has turned the clock back to the 1950s, allowing for the reduction of the voting power of minorities primarily in conservative southern states. This is exactly what MAGA wanted - to use their control of the White House, the Congress, and the Supreme Court to undo the reforms of the last 60 years. I will continue to support the Voting Rights Act and center my efforts to ensure all voters are represented equally in this democracy.

This is the week we're having in D.C.

Bronx programs serve nearly 43% of New York State's TRIO Talent Search and EOC students. The Trump Administration's FY26 grant applications would cut both programs by two-thirds and shift TRIO away from college access. My Bronx colleagues and I are fighting Secretary McMahon for the Bronx students who depend on them.

Trump’s DOJ, for 10 months, has been investigating the Instagram post made by James Comey. No months were spent investigating the Epstein Files and those who were survivors of sexual abuse. This warped behavior shows the design created to satisfy one man’s need for revenge.

Today in a joint session of congress, King Charles III gave an uplifting address and spoke of the common heritage and common destiny that the U.S. and the UK share. This type of speech is what we should expect from our nation’s leaders and look for from those representing us on a global stage.

Great to spend an evening with @RepYoungKim, @RepSheriBiggs, and @RepGLatimer to discuss strengthening 🇺🇸🇹🇼 security cooperation, expanding trade and investment, and building more resilient supply chains. Appreciate US Congress’s strong bipartisan backing for Taiwan and look forward to further strengthening our cooperation. 💪

Last Friday back in New York, I was proud to host the second installment of Representative Roundtable, an event where leaders in their field can share how federal, state, and local sectors can be influential partners to their cause. This past week, we hosted a roundtable focused on the state of veterans healthcare. We heard from service members, medical professionals, veterans' services staff, and gold star family members on how in this day and age, we can best support those who answer the call to service. I look forward to using the tools we discussed and will continue to aid in efforts of supporting service members and their families long after they return from service.

Did you know that PepsiCo’s global headquarters is located in NY16 in Purchase, NY? Last week, I met with PepsiCo team members in D.C. to discuss how we can continue to be a helpful partner in their future endeavors. Thanks for the visit!

Saturday night’s event involving a gunman at the Correspondents Dinner reminds us again of the threat of gun violence that can make its presence anywhere at any time. I am thankful that no one was harmed, and thank the law enforcement officers that ensured everyone exited safely. When people seek to harm others, they must face the full consequences of their actions. There can never be any justification for such behavior.

Gas prices are skyrocketing while only concepts of a plan to end to this war are being mentioned. It’s time for real reform to address the rising costs and the pressures weighing on the American people.

111 years ago on this day, millions of Armenians were murdered and displaced under the control of the Ottoman Empire. It has been 111 years since this atrocity took place and many still deny this attack on humanity. The resilience of the Armenian people still facing oppression must be recognized and remembered. That’s why I was proud to join the Armenian National Committee of America last week and speak at their commemoration ceremony and meet with the Armenian Assembly of America. I shared my commitment of support to ensure their stories may never be forgotten.

Free and fair elections are under threat and the Trump administration is enacting government agencies to aid with subversion of the democratic process. Here's my take:

Today I met with Congressional App Challenge winner Saihaj Singh. Along with his partners, Griffin Chan and Ishan Gheewala from Ardsley High School, they created a web-based video interview platform. This tool lets users host real-time, high-quality interviews directly in the browser. These students are innovating for the next generation and I look forward to seeing what they accomplish in the future!

This Earth Day, clean energy and climate are under attack. The Trump administration has been rolling back climate progress, treating us as expendable and driving up costs for American families. That's why we're fighting for a clean energy future and a healthy climate.

Happy Earth Day! Clean air, safe drinking water, and environmental protections are imperative to sustaining the planet we call home. I will continue to be an advocate for environmental justice and work towards making a world sustainable and equitable for all. Meaningful change starts with all of us - using our voices to educate others on how we can protect our planet for generations to come.
