The DFL stripping Omar Fateh’s endorsement is a disgrace. Delegates voted, the people spoke—and insiders erased it behind closed doors. This isn’t democracy, it’s sabotage. If grassroots voices can be tossed aside once, they can be tossed aside anytime.

With all due respect Pat, stay out of our local politics. You are neither a Minneapolis resident nor a DFLer. If I were you, I would worry about your own dysfunctional party.

I strongly condemn any acts of violence or incitement in the Jubbaland region. I urge the administration of President Hassan Sheikh and Prime Minister Hamza Barre to prioritize de-escalation and engage in meaningful dialogue to resolve this dispute peacefully. @TheVillaSomalia

It is only through constructive and inclusive peace talks that we can achieve stability and address the underlying issues affecting the region. Violence is never the answer, and I call on all parties to act with restraint and work toward a lasting solution that benefits JL.

Today I stopped by Isuroon! A multifaceted center on Lake Street whose services cover many needs- halal nutrition, employment, support to escape domestic violence, etc. “Isuroon” translates to a woman who takes care of herself. This center is striving to ensure women can do that.
