.@SenKevinCramer is absolutely right here - we absolutely need to give developers the certainty that politics won’t get in the way of their permits. Doing that would be a huge step towards solving our growing energy crisis.
Joshua Siegel@SiegelScribe

@SenKevinCramer Cramer said the bipartisan pushback shows need to impose reg certainty in a permitting bill. “There’s no question there's a coming together of the parties here. We can’t build anything. I don’t care what it is,” he told me. “So, let’s figure it out. It kind of gave me hope again"

Congress did something recently that it hasn't done in decades: major housing reform. Now, we need acceleration, and not just in housing - cheaper energy, better roads, faster cures, and more. Grateful to talk about it all with @FukuyamaFrancis at the @CNLiberalism Summit!

The U.S. spent $12 billion on transmission congestion costs in 2024 - that's a $33 million tax per day because we've made it too hard to build new transmission. And it's only going to get worse until we fix our transmission backlog! utilitydive.com/news/transfer-…

The 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act is finally law! Such a huge step towards tackling our housing shortage & lowering costs. But this is also about restoring trust in gov’t and proving that we can solve families’ kitchentable concerns - now we have to keep this momentum going!

Congress has tried passing a housing affordability package half a dozen times over the last eight months.  With the Build America Caucus’ help, today is the first time one is heading to the President’s desk. Here’s how we got to this massive win.🧵

Manufactured housing is a critical tool for unlocking affordable options for homebuyers. We just passed reforms to make these homes up to $10k cheaper, alongside so many more pro-growth housing wins. Let’s not wait another day for them to become law. smartcitiesdive.com/news/manufactu…

Indiana is the latest example that when states invest in evidence-based teacher training, students benefit. Statewide reading scores jumped after Indiana passed science of reading reforms in 2023. More states should be doing this! tribstar.com/news/indiana_n…

One year later, it’s tremendous to see the strongest pro-growth, pro-housing package in 50 years finally pass Congress. I look forward to the President signing this package into law, and to keeping this bipartisan, pro-growth momentum going.

Bicameral Bipartisanship! US House voted 358-32 for housing policy package intended to address supply and affordability, sending it to President Trump one day after the Senate passed it 85-5.
