🚨BREAKING🚨 After months of collaboration with local leaders and advocates, we’re delivering more than $15 million for North Texas — investments that will strengthen infrastructure, expand health care and education, improve public safety, and grow our economy. Proud to fight for these priorities and get them signed into law.

Today, we honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage and selflessness will never be forgotten. This Memorial Day, we must always remember and honor those who gave everything to protect the freedoms we enjoy today. 🇺🇸
House Veterans' Affairs Democrats@VetAffairsDems

Memorial Day is a reminder for us to reflect on and pay tribute to the stories of our lost servicemembers. To the families who have lost a loved one in service, our nation can never repay our debt to you or make up for your loss. Our hearts are with you on this day.

Proud to introduce the FED UP with Bleeding Disorders Act! It takes an average of 16 years for a woman with a bleeding disorder to receive a proper diagnosis. For too long, women and girls have been excluded from research and denied the care they deserve. That’s why I fought to protect bleeding disorder programs from reckless cuts and worked alongside the @nbd_foundation and @BleedingTexas to improve timely diagnosis and care.

One of my most important responsibilities in Congress is delivering results for North Texas. That’s why I’ve worked to secure more than $15.5 million in federal funding to invest in community projects across our region. Check out some of the North Texas projects ⬇️

DWC Members Omar & Jayapal serve their communities and women across America with heart, dignity, and passion every day. This is hateful, bigoted, and just plain wrong.

A little girl with a rare brain tumor should not be separated from her parents because of a broken immigration system. Denying humanitarian parole in a case like this is inhumane. Our immigration system should reflect our values: compassion, dignity, and humanity. We can have a fair, fast, and final system without abandoning our morals. nbcnews.com/news/us-news/d…

In Congress, I’ve stood firmly against Republican efforts to take away due process rights. That’s why I voted with Democrats against harmful legislation like the Laken Riley Act. I'll never stop fighting to protect Americans’ constitutional rights and the fundamental promise of equal justice under the law.

Violence in any form is unacceptable, and my heart is with the families who lost loved ones in today’s shooting at a mosque in San Diego. Houses of worship should always be places of peace, safety, and community; never fear. We must come together to reject hate and bigotry in all its forms, including Islamophobia. I’m grateful for the swift and heroic response from law enforcement and first responders as they worked to protect the community and prevent further harm.

For too long, Texas has had a two-tiered justice system: if you have money, you get freedom. If you don’t, you'll end up in jail. We need bail reform that protects public safety & due process. That’s why I voted NO on Republicans’ deceptive “Keep Violent Offenders Off Our Streets Act.”

I voted NO on Republicans' deceptive “Keeping Violent Offenders Off Our Streets Act” because justice should never depend on whether someone can afford bail. Charitable bail funds help low-income people accused of nonviolent offenses return to their families and jobs while awaiting trial. This bill adds new taxes, paperwork, and federal restrictions on nonprofits doing lawful work in our communities. The result? More people sitting in jail before trial simply because they’re poor, not because they’ve been convicted of a crime. I’ll keep fighting for a justice system that is fair, balanced, and focused on both safety and equal treatment under the law.

As #NationalNursesWeek comes to a close, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to the nurses of North Texas and across our country who dedicate their lives to caring for others. You bring an unwavering commitment to patients and families in their most difficult moments. Thank you for all that you do.

Had a great day getting a sneak peek at the new Halperin Park! Thank you to all our partners, especially April Allen, Anne Hagan, and Jessica Muniz, for helping reconnect neighbors split by highway construction. Together, we can build a safer, more beautiful Dallas!

Yohares Nieves Brizuela has been detained by ICE at the Blue Bonnet Detention facility for over four months and has yet to be charged with a crime. It is unacceptable that the wife of an active-duty National Guard member has to endure malnutrition at the hands of our government. I'm fighting to reunite her with her family, because no one in this country should be detained without due process.

Our primary was held on March 3rd, and the state parties still have not received the full voter file from the @TXsecofstate. This is straight from the Republican voter suppression playbook. Texans deserve transparency, not barriers that undermine confidence in our elections.

Had the chance to join @VNATexas for a Meals on Wheels delivery, bringing food to seniors in North Texas. Programs like this do so much more than deliver a meal; they provide a meaningful connection to neighbors. Grateful to the volunteers & staff who make this work possible!

North Texas Community Health Centers are doing critical work, but are stretched thin by workforce shortages. I introduced legislation to bring health care workers, patients, and federal agencies together to address these challenges and strengthen care for our communities.
