I signed a bill eliminating the requirement for a postgraduate degree for state jobs, when it's not required by law. Previous legislation did the same for 2- and 4-year degrees. We're getting the best people for public service. Thanks to sponsors Rep. Leavitt and Sen. Nobles.

Another senseless shooting and attack on our Jewish communities. Most folks who go to church or send their kids to school, don't have armed guards to go through. Unfortunately, our Jewish community experience this daily and sadly, it is routine. Acceptance of anti-semitism or silence hurts our WA communities. I'll always stand up against that harmful rhetoric and behavior.

I am deeply saddened and horrified to hear reports of a vehicle ramming and active shooter incident at Temple Israel in Michigan, the largest reform synagogue in the United States.
No one should be targeted for practicing their faith, period. Hatred and bigotry have no space in our nation, and I condemn this attempted attack on this synagogue. I will pray for those in West Bloomfield and I thank the first responders, law enforcement, and the synagogue security team for their service to this community.
