The people of Utah understand these lands better than any distant bureaucracy ever could. Decisions about how they are managed and protected should rest with the communities who live closest to them. The Antiquities Act was written to protect specific and important areas, and honoring its intent is the rational way to safeguard these treasures while giving Utahns a real voice in their future.

.@POTUS: "We're doing something very dramatic and very important for the people of Utah." @GovCox: "This is a big day for Utah. @POTUS did something very similar several years ago during his first term... we believe that under the Antiquities Act, it's very clear that these monument designations are supposed to be the smallest area possible to protect the antiquities, and these multimillion acre monuments that are bigger than the state of Delaware certainly do not fit that designation."

The #BabylonFire burning in San Juan County has grown to 96,594 acres, making it the largest wildfire burning in the United States. Disasters like this are a result of federal mismanagement where red tape stalls proactive measures that protect our communities. May God bless the brave firefighters and residents of San Juan.

“Let us be worthy of the people who built before us. Let us carry our own burden. Let us leave behind something that stands.” In 2027, from April through October, the Salt Lake Temple will be open for public tours for the first time in generations. This week on the House Floor, I invited my Congressional colleagues and their families to come to Salt Lake City and tour the Temple.

Two hundred and fifty years ago today our founding fathers wrote down a radical promise: that all of us are created equal, endowed by our Creator with unalienable rights, and free to pursue our own happiness. The profound legacy given us by our founding fathers has shaped our nation, and on America’s 250th birthday, I believe we have a responsibility to do more than just celebrate what we have inherited. Let us renew our commitment to this great nation, dedicating ourselves to carrying the promise forward for the next 250 years.

Today the Supreme Court confirmed a big win for common sense and for young women across America. Female athletes are protected, and women's sports are for women. Sports build character, health, confidence, and opportunity, and every girl deserves a fair shot at all of it. I'm proud to see those opportunities protected.

Yes. Taxpayers are projected to spend $240B on junk food through SNAP over the next decade, including $60B on soda alone. Meanwhile, SNAP's payment error rate topped $10B last year, roughly 1 in every 10 dollars spent. This is simply unacceptable and needs serious reform.

Every life holds God-given inherent value. We must be a country that protects the gift of life. Last week I spoke on the House floor to recognize the 4th anniversary of the historic Dobbs decision.

I woke up this morning with the same heavy heart I have carried all week as wildfires continue to burn throughout Utah. This week we lost three firefighters. I am praying for their families and for every Utahn affected. I am grateful for the first responders working around the clock. May God bless and protect them. This should not be our every summer. I represent a district that has watched fire tear through its communities. I have seen what it does to our land. I have met with the ranchers, the land managers, and the state officials who have lived this season after season. Changing the status quo surrounding wildfires is one of my top priorities in Congress. Our communities need forests that are actively managed and a federal government that understands our land and its unique needs. Please stay alert. Check on your neighbors. Support the men and women on the front lines. That is the Utah spirit. It is the reason we get through this year after year.
