We put on for our cities in the #FightingFifth! So great to catch up with leaders from the Cities of @cityofeastpoint, @cityofriverdale, and @collegepark_ga through the @leagueofcities in Washington, D.C. What happens in D.C. impacts our cities and their communities directly, and I’m proud to work hand in hand with local leaders to make sure all of our communities thrive.

Equality delayed is equality denied. From fairness in our workplaces to equality in our Constitution, the ERA is essential—and long overdue. I’ve voted in favor of the ERA, and I’ll keep fighting until it’s recognized as the 28th Amendment.

House Republicans would rather have FEMA, CISA, Coast Guard, and TSA agents go without pay than rein in ICE brutality. I’m signing a discharge petition to force a vote on the floor to pay our federal workers in the #FightingFifth and across the country, instead of signing a blank check to ICE.

HHS gave Title X applicants just one week to submit materials—putting critical funding for reproductive health care at risk. @ReproCaucus and @DemWomenCaucus leaders and I, along with 128 congressional colleagues, are demanding a one-year funding extension to stop delays of the life-saving work of Title X-funded centers in the #FightingFifth and across the country.

A federal judge blocked Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s attempt to roll back vaccine protections that keep families in the #FightingFifth and across the country safe. Vaccines save lives and the science matters. That’s why I made sure I’m up to date on my MMR booster. I got mine—y’all go get yours.

Five years after the violent Atlanta spa shootings, we remember the eight lives stolen, the families still grieving, and the communities still carrying deep scars. Remembrance must also move us to action. The fight to protect Asian American communities and confront anti-Asian hate is as urgent as ever. We honor the lives lost by standing shoulder to shoulder with Asian American communities in the ongoing fight for safety for all.

Harriet Tubman showed us all what courage in the face of injustice looks like. On #HarrietTubmanDay, we honor a freedom fighter, abolitionist, and leader who risked her life to guide others to freedom. Her courage reminds us that the fight for justice requires bravery, sacrifice, and unwavering belief in a better future.

It was a pleasure to sit down with leaders from the City of Riverdale for a legislative luncheon to discuss the supports they need for our communities to thrive. My work in the #FightingFifth and with the municipalities I represent informs my work in the halls of Congress, and I look forward to continuing to work together to deliver results for our residents.

As an #HBCU grad, it was special to visit @MSMEDU today and present the $950K grant I secured for a new academic and research building. This investment will expand biomedical research and workforce development—training the next generation of doctors and researchers advancing health equity in the #FightingFifth and beyond.
