Property Taxes are out of control and Relief is overdue! The House was able to at least pass a relief bill, but the Senate wouldn’t have anything to do with it. We still have special sessions coming but… Another Option - bring this issue straight to the people. On April 1st, 2026 I announced an effort to pass a citizen constitutional amendment that bans ad valorem taxes on real estate levied by any level of government. Everyone talks about homeowners. Nobody talks about the pizza shop. Thirty years on the same corner. Employs local kids. Survived recessions, hurricanes, a pandemic. And if they miss a property tax payment, the government can seize the building they spent a lifetime paying for. I'm for eliminating all property taxes. Your house. Your business. All of it. And no, not without a plan. Nothing moves without replacement revenue, and no legislature or governor would sign off without one. That's exactly why we built one. @RepRyanC As someone who lives out of state, this has the shape of something that might convince me to move to Florida.

If you stop paying your property tax, the government eventually takes your house. So who really owns it? Property taxes are up over 50% in 4 years. No end in sight. And nobody wants to talk about it because it's their funding. Here's where I come in. Phase one is on the November 2026 ballot which can bring some relief. Then let's discuss a full replacement strategy. What I won't accept is a never ending tax increase backed by a lien on your home. What do you think? Should Florida end property taxes? Yes or no? 👇

@RepRyanC Property taxes on a domicile are literally unconstitutional. So my question to you is; do you know why are they unconstitutional?

One way I’ve suggested is through tourism. We have millions of visitors to Florida every year and this could generate a lot of money for us so we don’t need to tax our homeowners on their houses. And yes, we definitely want property taxes reviewed to start. Thanks for your comment.

@RepRyanC So, you're not here for everyone. Weird statement for a public servant. I think property taxes should be reviewed and modified or capped, not completely eliminated. How do you propose to replace the services that property taxes provide?

I didn’t go to Tallahassee to keep my head down. Challenging the property tax system isn’t popular with everyone. That’s fine. I’m not there for them. End Property Tax Now exists because Florida homeowners deserve someone willing to fight for them.. not for the system. Follow along and thank you for your support. We’re just getting started.

I learned this lesson over 25 years in business, and it's the reason my message in politics fits in one sentence: You should own what you've paid for, keep more of what you've earned, and have a government that answers to you. Big news, Florida: property tax relief is heading to the ballot. 🗳️ That’s not the finish line — that’s the starting gun. The road to total elimination of property taxes for homeowners begins right here, right now. First steps are the hardest. Good thing we didn’t come here to take the easy ones. Time to work.

Not quite there, but we are making progress toward total elimination of property taxes, and a special session is a great first step. I look forward to gaveling in with the Speaker next week to continue moving forward with the effort to make us the Property Tax Free State of Florida.
