@jobip I clearly stated I wanted a sunset provision, limitations to situations of harassment, and consideration for those with disabilities. If it is truly ineffective, we will not extend as there will be data to prove it’s ineffectiveness as we have baseline data to compare to.

.@RepStava_Murray says she might vote for a penalty enhancement in this case. I strongly suggest a review of both the lack of effectiveness of enhancements and the the terrible impact of registries on people's ability to rejoin society - WHICH THEY WILL DO.

Grateful to @staudt_sarah for thoughtful testimony on HB5072, which would expose people incarcerated in IL to placement on sex offender registries for ANY sexual behavior in prison. If the idea is to prevent female corrections staff from being harassed, this is not the way.
