I’m proud to announce that I’ve secured $1,000,000 in federal funding for the City of Ferguson’s Plaza @ 501 Development. These funds will go toward creating a permanent home for the Ferguson Farmers Market, expanding downtown parking, and adding a fully accessible playground, splash pad, and community gathering space. I’m invested in improving infrastructure and helping to build community in the St. Louis region, and these funds will do just that.

Yesterday, I had the honor of presenting Ted Vytlacil with his military service medals. He had been told he would have to wait two years to receive his medals due to a backlog. Instead, our office intervened and got the medals for him. Ted earned three Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart from his deployments to Bosnia, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Thank you, Ted, for your service. I'll continue to fight in Congress for our brave service members and their families.

I'm proud to announce that I've secured over $3.1 million in federal funding for St. Louis Lambert International Airport to modernize critical power infrastructure supporting terminal consolidation. When companies decide where to locate and create jobs, the airport is one of the first things they evaluate. Too many times, Lambert's aging infrastructure has been the reason St. Louis loses that conversation. This investment helps change that — and I'll keep fighting to bring federal dollars home so this region can compete.

As the Congressman for Missouri's First District, I will continue to fight for economic growth in the St. Louis Region. I'm proud to partner with @RepNikkiB and my neighboring Representatives to expand the boundaries of the Gateway Arch National Park and work toward expanding economic opportunity in 'our' region on both sides of the river.

There are people who exploit the divides in this country. Pay attention. This un-American, morally corrupt bullshit needs to be called out. Left unchecked it breeds more hate and more disgusting comments just like it. If you believe this about ANY group of people, including our Muslim brothers and sisters: YOU are the lie. And YOU, including but not limited to this terrible excuse for a U.S. Rep, "do not belong in American society."
