Yesterday, I was proud to vote to send $1.76 billion to support and expand critical healthcare infrastructure at John J. Cochran Veterans Hospital right here in Missouri’s 1st District. Our support for our troops cannot end when they come home. We will forever be indebted to the sacrifices they have made to defend our country, and I will keep fighting in Congress to ensure our troops receive the best care possible.

Thank you to everyone who joined my Telephone Town Hall. I do this work for YOU, and it reaffirmed my “why” getting to listen to you all Tuesday night.

Yesterday, I stood with @TheBlackCaucus in unanimous opposition to the SCORE Act. Black athletes have helped build college athletics into the powerhouse it is today. I cannot support legislation that benefits major athletic institutions while so many remain silent as Black voting rights and Black political power are systematically undermined across our country. I will always fight to protect the right of every American to vote, and this moment demands leaders willing to stand up for fair representation and equal access to the ballot box.

"Enough is enough!" Yesterday, concerned Americans across the country gathered for the National Day of Action for Voting Rights. I’m proud to have joined fellow St. Louisans to protest the recent attacks on voting rights and protections. EVERYONE deserves the right to a fair vote.

Big thank you to Rise Up and All Hands on Deck for a wonderful prayer event yesterday, focused on bringing us together on the one-year anniversary of the tornado. It's so powerful to see St. Louisans coming together in prayer and service to lift up our community.

I joined the Urban League today for their resource distribution event for families and individuals still rebuilding from the storm. Thank you @ulstl for all of the tireless work you’ve done for the St. Louis region since day one of the tornado hitting a year ago.

On the one-year anniversary of the deadly tornado that tore through St. Louis, the picture is clear: Trump promised Missouri disaster assistance, and once again, he lied. I’ll keep fighting to bring recovery resources to the St. Louis region, because you all deserve to rebuild.

Tomorrow is the one-year anniversary of a tornado tearing through St. Louis, causing extensive damage in the region. I’m proud to have introduced my Tornado Preparedness Act today to direct FEMA and NOAA to establish a national program to modernize tornado detection and warning capabilities.

“Most guns used in crimes started somewhere legal.” I remain fully committed to pursuing comprehensive, evidence-based policies to reduce gun violence, protect our children, and make our neighborhoods safer.

This is not what America is supposed to stand for. I’m in Orlando with @OversightDems as part of our investigation into immigration enforcement. I will be doing the same at home soon in Missouri with @RepNikkiB What we are seeing is horrible and I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: ICE needs to be defunded, dismantled and scrapped for parts— and any legislation that includes any more funding for ICE: I’m a “Hell No.”

This is beyond sports. This is about a bright young man who exemplifies professionalism and hard work, becoming yet another victim to gun violence. Myself and my entire team are praying for his full and complete recovery.
