It is impossibly expensive to live in Canada. In the province of British Columbia where I live, gas is $2.09/l, which is $9.48/gal. The old house I rent in a remote area is $2000/month. A pound of organic, salted butter is $15. I have nowhere I can “go back” to, I am trapped in this country.
