There's so much repressed frustration towards most of the showrunners behind his adaptions that's also aimed towards the GoT universe fandom. I have my problems with his books. I don't think he's particularly great at female characters-

The showrunners in their clumsy way were following his endgame. Fandom threw a tantrum, less so how inconsistently the last few seasons were written, but more so that a certain character wasn't the hero that was "promised." GRRM is in the position where it's his ending-
