First, let’s fix your framing a bit.. this isn’t about "staying in the dark". It’s about how much value early information actually gives. You’re right that you can guarantee 2 characters eventually, and sure, luck can carry some pulls forward. But that doesn’t really address the core issue: knowing one version ahead doesn’t meaningfully change long-term outcomes. Your example from Genshin Impact actually proves my point more than yours. You saved 600+ pulls and got most characters... not because you knew future banners, but because you managed your resources well over time (and luck). That’s discipline, not foresight. knowing a bit more just feels better, it doesn’t actually change long-term outcomes that much 😂

damn your argument has so much flaws... "So yeah… you end up saving your pulls again for [new_character]. And it just keeps going like that" you do realize at some point i can guaranteed pull 2 character. or if i get lucky during one of those pulls, i can save it for future characters. but with this scenario, the decision is based on enough information, not based on the unknown future. in genshin, with this kind of approach, i manage to saved up until around 600+ pulls (around 100k primogems). thats around 4 guaranteed pull. and i still have 90% of the character in genshin. in the end... its your opinion againts mine... if you like staying in the dark not knowing which characters will be released in the next version, well its your choice. i prefer knowing which character will be released at least for the next version, so i can make better decision on what to do with my gems.

I think the result of this conversation is REALLY interesting, if you have some time I would give a read through the thread and the quotes and see if you come to the same conclusion. From what I gathered: - A majority of the community is against advance test servers and are enjoying not only the experience of figuring things out on their own but also the resurgence of testing streams from guidemakers and community interaction in testing builds and characters - A large subset feel it's healthier to have the test servers, so people can better plan to use or hold their pulls in advance or to pre-farm for materials. - A small minority don't care either way, as long as they are able to enjoy the game and they don't feel like a decision one way or another would change much. - The CC responses to this have been mixed. Some understand the sentiment but believe that it's better to have the test servers so that guide-makers aren't on a constant crunch on patch days and don't burn out and quit, others believe it does create an advantage in content creation and feeds into clique behavior. All in all, the discourse has been insanely healthy and I think right now we're in a great spot, and I want to thank the Arknights Endfield community for continuing to have these conversations in a constructive manner.

What I’m trying to say is, just try to enjoy the game more. My strategy is pretty simple (I'm F2P btw), i just pull until soft pity (around 60–70 pulls) on each banner. You’ll usually get at least one 6★, and if it’s not the rate-up, then oh well… maybe next time. Or i just wait until i can buy the limited operator after 300 pulls (like in AK OG). Another approach is saving pulls until i find an operator i really like, or one whose kit is so good it straight-up powercreeps others (like WISADEL back then), or when there’s a collab unit... since those usually don’t come back.

😂that's why i said... Okay nvm, now imagine they “LEAK” Fangyi and her kit actually fits your team better. So you decide to save your pulls for Fangyi. Then when her banner drops… boom, another “LEAK” shows up for a future version, and this [new_character] looks even better and fits your team perfectly (same situation as when you were stuck choosing between Tangtang and Fangyi). So yeah… you end up saving your pulls again for [new_character]. And it just keeps going like that 😂 At that point, it’s not really about the leaks anymore. You’re just scared to take the risk or commit to a choice, and you keep overthinking everything, always feeling like there’s gonna be something better later. In reality, it doesn’t matter whether they leak [new_character] or not. You just want something better than what you have right now. And the only outcomes are either you somehow get everything, or you keep waiting forever until something finally feels "good enough"

highly doubt they change element and role once beta started. they can put huge disclaimer that it is still in beta and anything can change. and what do you mean "it’s not even about opinions", of course its your opinion vs my opinion. and im not here trying to change your mind/opinion.

exactly my point. if we have more information about what is going in the beta, i can make a better decision to : A. pull tangtang now B. save for fangyi if she will be released next also it depends on fangyi kits. who knows, maybe she is physical and not electric. "by the time her banner drops you’ll probably have enough pulls saved anyway" you really confident i will have enough 110 pulls when 1.2 start? because as of now i still need to do 87 pulls until tangtang guaranteed, and i only have 94 pulls left.

There’s barely any info about Zhuang Fangyi yet, and by the time her banner drops you’ll probably have enough pulls saved anyway

@MaplePrism For Guide Maker CCs, why don’t you guys just make discussion content about the new Operators and weapons? Their official account already shares info about upcoming Operators, events, and other new mechanics two weeks before release, just like Tantang

that why i said it would be better of HG gives information whats in beta. i highly doubt the character element and role will be changed drastically if its already in beta. it would be better if they can also teased about the character kit and gives huges disclaimer that it can still be changed. this way we dont have to rely on leakers.
