I can think of no other field besides medicine where you are expected to provide a service despite being verbally abused for 12 hrs by the family receiving that service…. And then be expected to come back again in another 12. #MedTwitter

Question for y’all Someone told me they didn’t really understand the match or what residency is while they were in med school. This was like 10 years ago. Is there a meaningful group of med students today who are in this boat?

Will we ever talk about Dr. Sebi and Left Eye from TLC? Her story is a cautionary tale about why that man’s ideologies and “healing” methods shouldn’t be believed.

@orthogal21 Yep infertility is a reproductive justice issue. Lots of people we take care of on Medicaid cannot get work up or treatment for infertility as it’s simply not covered and obviously really expensive. Rich ppl shouldn’t be only ones who can have kids.

Help me understand this #medtwitter I go to med school, residency, fellowship…dedicate my life to helping others. Postpone starting a family (not that I had the time, money, support or encouragement within the academic community anyway). Now that my career & finances are stable

Only in TN @cvspharmacy do I have to wait now 17 min to get my COVID Bivalent and Flu vaccination. In 2021 in CA and 2022 in GA, I followed the online appointment process and got my shots immediately. Now the pharmacist is working on my stuff. TN do better !!

@JeffSteinerDO @olsonplanner Mine was 10k and that was prob close to bare minimum, but I moved to a high cost of living place and I think rent, deposit and broker fee was about 5k.

Hey Med Students/ Residents - Is $5,000 enough for a relocation loan between med school and residency? If not - what is the “bare bones” amount that makes sense?

Navigating the space between feeling honored and asking about an honorarium is super awkward—especially if you’re a woman or a minority. It helps a lot when honoraria (or none if not budgeted) is made explicit in an invitation to speak. It saves cognitive and emotional energy.

I'm so honored to be one of the MacArthur Fellows of 2022. When you serve your people with integrity, all your dreams come true and you get your flowers while you're alive. This goes beyond my dreams! #MacFellow

@Gabby_Brauner27 @olsonplanner Yes you don’t need to worry about a waiver. It’s for people who had been paying but tricky rules made them not qualify. As others have explained you’ll consolidate your loans & apply each year with your employer starting in residency

@DGBassani This def goes to show how not getting infected is also an equity and privilege thing. Many many ppl can’t sleep in separate rooms or use separate bathrooms. Glad most your family stayed uninfected!

We support each other through hardships & celebrate each other’s wins at the health center I provide abortion care. Today, we are taking a moment to be together for my birthday - all while working hard to offer patients the health care they need.
