Meet @ElsaJohnson, an American undergraduate junior at Stanford University who faced transnational repression (as well as her family!) from the Chinese Communist Party including online and physical surveillance on campus. Our universities have become soft targets for foreign espionage and gateways for our adversaries, and they need a serious wake-up call to address these significant national security threats.

Our U.S. universities are under siege from foreign espionage and national security threats that faculty and staff are turning a blind eye to. Look no further than the University of Michigan where Chinese nationals connected to the school attempted to smuggle biological materials into the U.S.—or Stanford where a student just told me her university ignored Chinese espionage targeting her directly. This should NEVER be happening on our kids’ college campuses. These are national security threats that demand accountability.

At today’s House Intelligence hearing, I shared my strong support for President Trump’s Operation Epic Fury and deep concerns about the inappropriate, antisemitic letter released by a former appointee. I thought it was important to ask @DNIGabbard about whether she shared those concerns about the letter. She said yes. WATCH👇

A deeply concerning new report from @HarvardJews Alumni Association highlights the plummeting of Jewish student admissions. “Harvard’s Jewish undergraduate enrollment stands at 7 percent today, the lowest level recorded since before World War II and the lowest of any Ivy League institution with reliable data. That is roughly half what it was a decade ago, and less than a third of the 25 percent share Jewish students held for much of the latter twentieth century. Among well-documented peer institutions, no school has seen a steeper recent-decade decline.” In the hearing heard around the world from 2023, I pressed Harvard’s former president Gay on this matter and it was essentially shrugged off as you can see from this testimony. I strongly believe the antisemitism does not just impact students on campus at Harvard; it shapes admissions. Worth a rewatch👇

“Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) and Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) demanded a “formal investigation” into a popular Chinese gadget maker, alleging its products pose “unacceptable risks to US national security. The lawmakers flagged concerns about Anker — which sells “smart” home goods like security cameras through its Eufy brand, along with fast-charging batteries — in a letter to FCC Chairman Brendan Carr and Commerce Department Secretary Howard Lutnick. #NY21 shares our prayers and deepest condolences to the families of the three brave servicemembers who lost their lives in service to our country in Operation Epic Fury. Our American servicemembers are heroes. Our nation must continue to pray for their safety and for their families.

As a senior Member of the House Armed Services Committee and the House Select Committee on Intelligence, I have always been consistent that Iran cannot have nuclear weapons capabilities that would threaten the national security of the United States. Iran is the world’s largest sponsor of terror and has targeted, killed, and wounded U.S. service members and civilians throughout the Middle East over the past decades including soldiers from the 10th Mountain Division. Additionally, the sick Iran regime controlled by the blood-thirsty ayatollah terrorists have destroyed a nation, continued to pursue nuclear weapons threatening America and all of humanity, slaughtered innocent Iranians, and shed blood across the Middle East including of Americans. I know President Trump has to make some of the most difficult decisions imaginable and there is no decision more serious that military action to protect our national security and American lives. God Bless our brave men and women in uniform. The American people are praying for your safety.

I thought it was masterfully handled how the Team was appropriately brought in as special guests for the portion of the speech highlighting their historic gold medal win. It was an honor to attend President Trump’s State of the Union where he highlighted the significant results that he has worked with Congress to deliver to the American people including the largest tax cut in history, a secure border, and a peace through strength national security agenda that supports our men and women in uniform. As always, the incredible stories that President Trump shared about the American heroes seated with the First Lady were inspiring. As Co-Chair of the Bipartisan Olympic Caucus and the Representative of Lake Placid where the famed Miracle on Ice took place 46 years ago, my favorite part was honoring the incredible Team USA hockey gold medalists - they are American icons and heroes. America couldn’t be prouder of them. They have continued the extraordinary legacy of the 1980 Miracle team and inspired a nation and a new generation.
