Absolutely exceptional force of wind from #StormGoretti - easily without doubt, recency bias or excitement - the most violent wind gusts I've ever experienced. Constant power flashes in the first hour, many in the distance and then eventually over Hayle with the power going. 👇

Without doubt, recency bias or excitement talking, the worst winds I've ever experienced, and by quite a margin. Genuinely hard to stand up at times, actual fear as things were blowing around, ferocious gusts. I won't be forgetting #StormGoretti in a hurry.

Just a few of the many hundreds, potentially thousands, of trees brought down across #Cornwall last night. Many coming down alongside power cables, some into homes and buildings and virtually every town and village has multiple road closures making travel impossible.
