I'm well aware of how hated we are in the region by the average person, but better a cold peace than killing each other. Egypt and Jordan are not poor because of peace agreements, but rather for other reasons. Israel is not stopping them from developing their economies. The UAE has peace with Israel and it is prosperous.

@lebanesesami @961iceberg Israel is not killing children for a living, what a stupid thing to say. They do protect their children, at any cost - as they should btw. Once the Arabs will start loving their children more than they hate the Jews, all will be well.

@lebanesesami @961iceberg The point is, none of the horrors perpetrated by Israel was not already perpetrated by most Arab countries so take the chill pill

Dear Italy, Your PM just defended Pope and lost an ally in Washington — the Commander in Grief, yet the most 'powerfool'man on earth. We'd like to apply for the vacancy. Our qualifications: 7,000 years of civilization, a shared love of poetry, architecture, and food that takes longer to prepare than Trump's attention span. The only thing Iran and Italy have ever fought over is who invented ice cream. Faloodeh came first. Gelato came louder. We've been in a 'cold' war over this for 2,000 years.

@ProfessorPape The risk of civil war remains low. During the civil war, the Army with proportional representation from all religions almost never took sides. The head of the army continues to prioritize national unity. He refused to label Hezbollah as terrorist org. in front of Lindsey Graham.

Israel is holding talks with the Christian and Sunni leaders of the Lebanese government, talks opposed by Shia leaders. As map of sectarian divisions shows, this is more likely to lead to cleansing the Shia from the south and civil war than peace.

@CommieCarney @denisrancourt Canadians do care when foreign policy hits their wallets. The Strait of Hormuz crisis has driven up oil prices and gas costs across Canada — that's not abstract, it's making groceries and everything more expensive. Being extremely pro-Israel right now is not popular, believe me.

In Canada, this man is the Conservative party's trainwreck BECAUSE he is extreme pro-Israel and extreme anti-China. Most Canadians cannot swallow those extremes. He is also not expressing a vision outside of the shadow of the USA. (And this explanation does not mean that the Liberals are acceptable to me!)

@ResetTheMatrix @um36_shroyer @upholdreality @TVFreePalestine The resistance won’t win this, it’s either accept now and rebuild, or negotiate later and give Israel more than they asked for with even greater loss of men and resources. Fighting to the end is not honorable, it’s a poor leaderships decision. Sometimes early retreat = a win.
