Reminder: The religious practices of Satanism (which you can find in books like The Satanic Bible, The Satanic Rituals, and The Satanic Scriptures) do not include things like "Satanic nativity scenes" in front of City Hall in December, Satanic "after school" programs for children, or "Satanic prayers" to begin government meetings. This means that if you see people doing such stunts, they are not Satanists practicing Satanism; they are simply trolls trying to bait and harass Christians.
Likewise, as a Satanist, I do not view the lack of such things as "unfair" nor a case of my religion being "unrepresented" in such public spheres. Inserting them is not a celebration of "religious diversity", nor is it exercising "freedom of religion". It is just people who aren't of my religion, misusing my religion by name, for the purpose of trolling.
Furthermore, the stunts don't accomplish anything. They do not make evangelical theocrats say, "Gee, I guess I see the error of my ways, and should let all religions have equal time." If they believed in religious plurality, they wouldn't be theocrats. Nor do the stunts "expose Christian hypocrisy", as they only appeal to people who dislike Christians in the first place.
As for the rationalization that doing philanthropy in the name of Satanism is still "good" because it's still philanthropy, this begs the question of why such people can't drop the "Satanic" angle, which is completely counterproductive in such a context, and just work with an existing secular group of the same cause. (For example, if an "After School Satan" club is really just trying to "teach science and reason", then just support an existing org who already creates and leads science clubs for schools.) The answer as to why Cevin Soling's stunt group (The Satanic Temple) doesn't do this is because they like the thrill of baiting and harassing Christians.
And no, Anton LaVey didn't establish and name his religion Satanism "to troll Christians". His reasons for establishing Satanism and calling it such are explained in The Satanic Bible, as well as in the prerecorded 30-second introduction to episodes of the Satansplain podcast.

No, TST gets invovled because at the end of the day, they just get a cheap thrill from trolling Christians. It's really that simple. If their goal really was things like philanthropy for example, they'd drop the extremely counterproductive "Satan" angle and just be individuals working with competent charity groups. As a Satanist, I already have freedom of religion here in the United States. Showing up where Christians are to do "Satanic" parodies of what they're publicly doing (nativity scenes, charities, school programs, etc.) is not exhibiting my "freedom of religion", since Satanism doesn't include things like that in the first place. Furthermore, TST's antics makes my situation *worse*, because not only are they misrepresenting my religion, but confirming the boogey man of radical Christians who think "Satanists" are after their children. TST are not "just Satanists in their own compassionate way"; they are just SJWs in pentagrams with zero foresight.
