Hopefully, there are only 15 days left until the first #earth2 app version.... #E2 needs to finally set itself apart from the thousands of other open-world games out there and stop trying to run behind them. We need something that makes us stand out; we need innovation; i want to experience 1:1 geolocation the way the project was originally envisioned; we need the app.... to feel earth2 like @theshaneisaac presented the project. When you're currently walking around on #e2v1, you don't notice anything about geolocation, and it could just as well be a purely imaginary open world map. We need the App.

Back in 2024, even just watching Shane running around with his avatar in #E2V1 videos was enough to get us all excited. But now, time has passed, E2V1 has been opened up to testers, and we can see far more than what @theshaneisaac showed in those old videos from 2024. And yet, despite that, why is the community’s interest lower than it was last year? Back then, everyone was on edge, wondering when E2V1 would be released. Now that it’s actually launched, there’s a sense of relief. The mindset has shifted to, “I just have to wait a little longer.” Before, people participated in the community to ask for advice—“Did I buy the right land?” or “Is my Droid set up properly?”—mainly because they were worried about potential losses. Now, the thinking is more like, “The @earth2io team will handle the development just fine,” or “If I wait, better features will come out and new players will get interested.” In theory, community activity should increase as more E2V1 features are added. But in reality, it feels like the opposite is happening, because the prevailing attitude is “Just wait and see.” This comes from treating #Earth2 more like a cryptocurrency project. For example: “The value of #Essence is something Earth2 can raise.” “Interacting with other users doesn’t increase the value of Essence anyway.” That’s the mindset that’s taken hold. Either way, we need change. We could design the system so that landowners earn far more than Essence token holders, or create a sense that it may take a long time before the Essence price rises—possibly even causing some frustration. That way, people would become more attached to the land they own and log in more frequently.
