On MTGO, in the last 2 years, the number of events has tripled (from 2 challenges per week to 6, while prizes have decreased); the number of sets printed has increased exponentially; power creep has risen, and design mistakes have been made. Solution they thought: hide the data.

I agree 100%. This will be a big hit on my favorite formats. We need the near-misses for the inspiration and passion, especially for smaller archetypes. My suggestion: 6-rounder: publish top16 7-rounder: publish top24 8-rounder and above: publish top32

@DaybreakGames and #WOTCStaff can we get some sort of non bullshit explanation on this? There is no positive aspect to this change and it further alienates the competitive constructed community. It particularly hurts eternal formats with smaller player bases.

They are stopping releasing a huge % of deck lists. This is very bad, in Eternal formats like Vintage and Legacy (or Modern) this tends to end up in the metagame ending up being a 3 deck metagame because players just copy paste. Also less innovation. 🔁 #mtg #releasethedecklists

I get the intent behind limiting decklist visibility, but I’m genuinely worried we’re solving the wrong problem. Access to successful lists is one of the main ways players learn, improve, and understand a format. If we treat information itself as the thing to be protected from, it feels like we’re missing what actually helps players grow. Hiding outcomes doesn’t make formats healthier, it just makes them harder to understand.
