Lioness Yuna is suffering from shell shock & a severe concussion. Disoriented & unable to get up for quite a while, local veterinarians are now providing the necessary treatment. This event underlines the need to get as many animals as possible out of Ukraine & to safety.

Early this morning, a massive missile attack took place in the Kyiv region in Ukraine. Debris struck just 300 meters from our partner Wild Animal Rescue, sheltering captive wild animals like lions, tigers, and wolves. The impact left the center's staff and animals in shock.

This is the FINAL graphic of captive elephant deaths for 2023. There were 41 zoo and/or circus elephant deaths and 20 sanctuary deaths in 2023, (plus countless temple, wild, logging, tourist elephants that are not in these counts) The average age of zoo/circus deaths

This endangered reticulated giraffe got the best Christmas gift of all – the gift of life! The Meru Vet Unit mounted an emergency op on Xmas Day to cut away the snare that spelt a death sentence, causing a painful & disfiguring injury. Now he’s got a future that’s merry & bright.

But the question is, will they ever learn?? They’ll do anything - even if it could result in a tragedy - to hold on to their misguided ideas. I don’t even know what to say anymore about the rampant ignorance, willful blindness, apathy, complacency and sheer negligence. 😭🐘🐘😭
