People were outraged at the $500k couple, but the underappreciated aspect of the story is that the woman making $36k lives in the same neighborhood and leads a similar lifestyle, minus saving $10k per month, because she is a beneficiary of various subsidies, including a rent stabilized apartment. New York is unaffordable for some people, because the state and city are bleeding those people to give free stuff to other people, for whom New York is free.

We paid $190 per month for great employer sponsored insurance before Obamacare. A year later that number was double. Now we pay over $800 per month for really shitty insurance and the out-of-pocket deductible is prohibitive. You have to be high on crack, glue and LSD to believe this.

The city announced yesterday that they’re going to start trying to pay people’s parking tickets for parking justice or something. So, the people who get squeezed here are people who don’t own cars, while people do negligently own cars get city subsidized illegal parking. Cool.

Caleb Hammer has done more to totally discredit the American welfare system than any Republican politician in history. Every argument in favor of the status quo is a disingenuous attempt to continue stealing from normal people for no other reason than to fund parasites who contribute absolutely nothing to society.
