I was in the Western Cape along the garden route in a small town not far from Knysna admiring beautiful South Africa and minding my own business, to then remember I forgot my training/gym shoes. They only had Mr Price sports so I bought Maxed Nova Sneakers for R350. This might be a bit of an exaggeration but these are by far the most comfortable gym shoes for me. Now thinking of how many expensive gym shoes I have and none of them come close to this is disheartening for me.

Absa left the group after many years of sponsorship, because they saw that the support for Mamelodi Sundowns was declining in our league. Absa Premiership was very interesting and competitive until Motsepe started this thing of spending Billions to kill competition, which was making profit for every club, but now only 2 clubs are making profit, Pirates and Chiefs by their fan base, otherwise it would’ve been over for them also. DSTV came in after Absa and tried to make money by ripping people's money from their 202 Supersport PSL and took the television rights from SABC, thinking they would make money, but Sundowns made our league boring by killing competition and killing many competitive teams. Even the oldest club in PSL collapsed because it was not making a profit. After all, fans were not interested anymore, and DSTV decided to leave after just a few years. Betway came to the party last season, and they’re alleged to be losing money over this Boring league where only 2 clubs compete, and 1 is trying hard to kill competition so it can be the only club winning trophies, and Betway will be leaving even sooner than DSTV because our league is not interested anymore. Too much money is injected to 1 club, and that totally kills all the other 14 teams' momentum. That’s why you see every season a club is selling a status, football fans are losing interest. When the league was unpredictable, it attracted too many sponsors and too many fans remember these nights of playing Bidvest Wits in their small stadium, and the competition was so interesting. Remember those Sunday matches against Celtic? Remember those blockbusters against Supersport in Pretoria? All those days are gone, and we’ll never see them again. Motsepe's mission is complete, and he headed to CAF and turned it into a joke lately with his cheap line VAR with no goal line technology, and a spider web camera to make the broadcasting interesting. Some matches are not televised because of corruption. Everything is a mess in African football because of this man; this is what happens when you hand over sports responsibilities to a businessman who’s only obsessed with making his own profit. He grew up managing and bossing; he’s not used to the opinions of someone else. He just dictates everything, while football is a game of opinions. South African football will never be the same. Players now play for money; the love for the game is lost. That’s why at Bafana Bafana we will always be stuck on the same page, no matter what, players who dominate there are just after the paper. That’s why they chose to play for that club. This is just a disgrace to our nation, not even God can save us from the beast of an Illuminati-sponsored institution. #OnceAlways

Guys, apartheid really did a number on the older generation. A month ago, I saw this beautiful garden and wanted to hire the person taking care of it. I hired this old gentleman I guess he’s in his late 50s, if not 60s. He’s a nice guy, gets the work done, and makes my garden look beautiful too. But here’s the problem: he is suffering from what I can only describe as post-apartheid syndrome. Every day he calls me “baas,” even though I’ve repeatedly told him to call me Ivyn. Whenever we go to the garden refuse, he automatically jumps onto the back of my bakkie to sit with the garden waste and I have to insist that he sits in the front with me. Not only that, but when I give him food, he used to sit on the floor until I started telling him to sit on the camping chair. He’s so used to working under apartheid-era white South Africans that his mind still seems programmed for that dynamic. Even with payment, he charged me below the minimum wage. Only my wife and I insisted that we would pay him above minimum wage because we believe in living wages. It’s just so sad to see this still happening in 2026.
