Creativity doesn't come from other people's validation. We are all born with imagination; creativity comes from the courage to turn that imagination into reality. If you let other people's rules bind you and trap you in their established game, you're just a participant in someone else's game. That's absolutely beautiful. For Jung, those "allies" aren't just human—they include the psychological, the ineffable, the material and immaterial forces that enter your life once you commit truly to your work. There's a perfect Chinese saying that captures this state: "When the time comes, heaven and earth join forces together." (时来天地皆同力)

Carl Jung was not playing around when he wrote: “No matter how isolated you are and how lonely you feel, if you do your work truly and conscientiously, unknown allies will come and seek you.”

Be delusionally optimistic about your potential. The world will try to hand you smaller versions of yourself. Opinions. Labels. Doubts disguised as “logic.” Don't let it enter your consciousness. Don't let anyone change what you believe about yourself to be true. Because before anything becomes real in your life, it has to be real in your mind.

Totally agree — getting someone to see you as “one of us” is the ultimate persuasion hack, often 10x easier once it clicks. The hard part is step 0: actually convincing them you belong in their group. For established tribes with clear identity, it’s doable. For loose crowds or groups that barely exist yet? That’s 10x harder again. Leadership is probably the biggest lever — a strong, credible leader can make random strangers feel like insiders almost instantly. So if in-group bias is the force, then consistently showing up as that kind of leader going direct, building trust over time seems like the highest-ROI move.
