Creativity doesn't come from other people's validation. We are all born with imagination; creativity comes from the courage to turn that imagination into reality. If you let other people's rules bind you and trap you in their established game, you're just a participant in someone else's game. The reason you feel inadequate is because you're always chasing after others. When you play your own game, you become the creator, the artist.

"I'm not a creative person." No, you are, everyone is, but your mind is just clogged by all of the podcasts and social media you ram into it without properly digesting it. You're conditioned to believe you can only take a certain path in life, and you don't daydream or entertain stupid ideas that could set you on an entirely new trajectory. You're so obsessed with being productive and efficient that you feel like you're always falling behind, and that stress prevents you from thinking outside the box. You need to slow the fuck down, allow yourself to be bored (actually bored, not so overstimulated that you find enjoyable things boring), and pursue a life that you design, not one that was assigned to you.

That's absolutely beautiful. For Jung, those "allies" aren't just human—they include the psychological, the ineffable, the material and immaterial forces that enter your life once you commit truly to your work. There's a perfect Chinese saying that captures this state: "When the time comes, heaven and earth join forces together."

@conductr_ Challenges force you to get clear on what matters — because they have a score. Life doesn’t. That’s why we need challenges: to turn life into a game. But remember: the win isn’t the goal. Playing is.

pick a challenge that demands everything you have but doesn’t crush you. give it a clear goal and a way to know if you’re winning. you’ll forget time. you’ll forget yourself. that’s flow. and flow is the only real path to happiness.

@karunpal I completely agree. Belief is everything. The potential of the story is the potential of the self. Never let anyone else’s narrative rewrite who you are. Until it becomes real in the world, you are the only believer in yourself.

Be delusionally optimistic about your potential. The world will try to hand you smaller versions of yourself. Opinions. Labels. Doubts disguised as “logic.” Don't let it enter your consciousness. Don't let anyone change what you believe about yourself to be true. Because before anything becomes real in your life, it has to be real in your mind.

It’s hard for me to imagine that we live in such an era: information is exploding, yet wisdom has hardly seen any substantial growth. Rousseau said: “My soul grows ever more depraved with the progress of the sciences and arts… Luxury, idleness, and servitude are the punishments we deserve, because we only wished to escape from the paradise of ignorance and unknowing— which in fact was the very birthplace of our lasting virtue.”

Reva Huai@RevaHuai

Totally agree — getting someone to see you as “one of us” is the ultimate persuasion hack, often 10x easier once it clicks. The hard part is step 0: actually convincing them you belong in their group. For established tribes with clear identity, it’s doable. For loose crowds or groups that barely exist yet? That’s 10x harder again. Leadership is probably the biggest lever — a strong, credible leader can make random strangers feel like insiders almost instantly. So if in-group bias is the force, then consistently showing up as that kind of leader going direct, building trust over time seems like the highest-ROI move.

If you want to win someone over (recruit, sales prospect, investor etc) Convince them you belong to the same group, and the rest takes care of itself In-group preference is one of the most powerful forces in human behavior People will funnel resources to members of their group, even if it means everyone gets less in absolute terms Other perks for group members: - actions are judged more moral - persuasion is more effective - memories of events are distorted in their favor (!) - attacks actually strengthen cohesion and loyalty Group belonging is so strong that it can even be triggered arbitrarily. People assigned to a group *at random* will still favor members of their group in these ways
