@RealEddieHobbs Mortgages were originally interest only. What's the big deal with amortization. It never worries the government.

@Nick_Delehanty Don't build. Pay them and fly them home. Dublin airport is the answer. Hard cash, in 5g bank wrap bundles as they step on the plane. We can't build our way into the third world but we can buy our way out.

Opinion The lists goes on and on....thousands of payments👇🏻 Dublin City Council is trapped in an upward spiral of spending. All it is doing is subsidising private profiteers while perpetuating the homeless crisis because actual house-building is caught up in red tape and objections. This is totally unsustainable. Few realise the amount of leverage baked into the system: these properties are heavily mortgaged, using Govt contracts as collateral. The Govt. must know that if they pull the plug, there will be a cascade of defaults. But if they don't, it lets providers borrow and buy more to inflate the bubble further. This entire scheme is driving up rents, hotel prices and of property prices for everyone. But worst of all..... its driving up taxes to pay for it!!! How many beds does Banty own? I estimate the McEnaney family are paid at least €100million a year all in. That would mean somewhere north of 3000 beds. To put that into perspective IRES REIT, Ireland's largest landlord, has about 5000 beds and is valued at €1.3billion....the only difference Banty doesn't need planning permission! How are serious people standing by and watching this unfold? Link to docs: dublincity.ie/council/govern…

Dublin City Council has spent €455,000,000 in the first 9 months of 2025. 37% or €168,000,000 goes to private hotels/landlords for emergency accommodation. Thats almost 4 in every 10 euros. Here are the top 10 paid companies.....🧵

No one talks much about the official story grifters. Before the 2nd tower had even collapsed on 9/11, "experts" were on US TV insisting war against the Taliban was a must. Many of these folk had strong financial ties to the arms industry. "Arms dealers with good vocabularies."

Honestly, if the plan on the right is to row back on the sexual revolution we might as well back up our bags and go home. x.com/newstart_2024/…
Camus@newstart_2024

Bret Weinstein just said something that won’t leave my head: For the first time in 300,000 years of human evolution, we removed the cost from the single biggest reward nature ever invented — sex and pair-bonding. Reliable birth control + abortion = you can now cash the evolutionary lottery ticket without paying the 20-year mortgage of pregnancy, diapers, sleepless nights, and college funds. Result? An entire generation of 18–35-year-olds walking around with the energy, libido, hormones, and protective instincts that evolution spent millions of years calibrating for child-rearing… but with zero actual children. That energy didn’t disappear. It got redirected. Heather Heying’s observation is brutal: young women especially began treating ideologies the exact way evolution wired them to treat babies. Climate change, social justice, whatever the cause of the month is — it gets defended with literal mama-bear ferocity, the same neurochemistry that once guarded a toddler from predators now guards an abstract idea from wrong think. And now Elon is promising the second shoe is about to drop: AI-driven abundance will make money as “free” as sex became in the 1970s. Both of evolution’s primary carrots — mating and resource acquisition suddenly cost almost nothing. Weinstein’s ice-cold question: When producing and protecting actual children is no longer the central organizing principle of adult life… and when creating wealth is no longer required for status, security, or attracting a mate…What is left to give a human life direction, meaning, and structure? Are we about to become a species that invents bigger and bigger dragons to slay just to feel alive? Or do we drift into total listlessness? This 3:52 clip is genuinely haunting. Watch it all the way through, then tell me — honestly — does this explain the absolute intensity we’re seeing in culture right now, or is Bret completely missing something? Real answers only. Quote-post if it hits you in the chest like it hit me.

Has @SportTG4 geo-blocked the club championship broadcasts in recent weeks? Seems needless, as not like some foreign channel has local rights to Moycullen-Brigid's etc for those of us abroad? Hoping I'm wrong as big part of a winter Sunday for exiles plus no one wins @GAA_BEO

Is it possible for an Irish person to be rich and not talk down to people with smugness to cover over their own pathetic failings? And I don't even like Celtic but this could as well be FFG.
Celtic Fans Collective@CFC_Collective

Yet again, the Celtic Board gives a principal shareholder free rein, this time using his son as cover, to unleash another disgraceful attack on Celtic fans. If the footage didn’t exist, you’d struggle to believe it happened. His behaviour is spiralling, and it shows.

@ColmanOfGuaire Possibly, but they are saying stuff. That's what got trump into trouble. Saying stuff breaks the spell. It must be suppressed at all costs. Genuinely baffled by this appointment. Would not be surprised if they got him out again very quickly. They don't do subtlety when angry.

@ColmanOfGuaire I strongly believed that post politics jobs were gone for the Irish after they pissed off the owners and their sick statelet. This will embolden the rest of them to channel their inner Robinson's. Still think Varadkar will be in scrubs again, though.

@Muinchille Would the foreign people we are building houses for here, not prefer that we build them a house in their own country? It would be cheaper and they wouldn't have to live apart from their family and culture. If we owe them anything, why not settle the debt in rupees or naira.
