@ReviewLightning It's nice to see other fans that were there during the dark days of 50+ losses. Names like Cory Schwab, Rick Tabaracci, Cory Cross, Dwayne Hay, and all the jobbers that made that pieced together roster backed by what was likely Yakuza money.

It's so weird to think that Paul Ysebaert led the Lightning in scoring in 1997-98 with only 40 points (13 goals, 27 assists). Different era for both the team and league. The Lightning had nothing at center and a merry-go-round in goal. Awful team in an era of boring hockey.

Happy Birthday to the Lightning's first ever captain, Paul Ysebaert! The Sarnia, Ontario-born winger spent 5 seasons in Tampa Bay. Since his retiring from the NHL, he's built a career owning race horses. He turns 60 today, which makes ME feel old.

@Bolts4thecup Yeah, I remember being excited for the Lightning to get him because I'd seen him play for Montreal on Hockey Night in Canada.

For context, 40 or 43 points would have placed them SEVENTH in scoring on this year's Lightning team.

The leading scorer the following season was Darcy Tucker, with 43. Brutal.

@beuycek Yeah, it was one roster disaster after another... losing Gratton, Cullen and Bradley one after another, NO budget, Puppa's bad back... on and on...

@ReviewLightning There is a reason they are the only franchise to lose 50+ games three straight years. They were awful in every way.
