Was over on the sky site wondering about how my life got to this point, and being contemplative in general. Took me a bit to realize it's because TODAY marks it being ***18 YEARS*** since I uploaded my very first video to Google Video and started all of this. God.....

@dark1x Even when it comes to loot driven games, it's like developer's have mis-arranged the formula in their games: The loot enables the gameplay, not the other way around. Your loot should facilitate the fun, your loot *shouldn't be* the fun. A damm shame most don't get that.

A focus on weapons and loot with micro-stats is something that really turns me away from many games. It’s rarely satisfying or interesting in practice, outside of very specific exceptions. What do you folks think?

@juzcook Enjoy! I'd never heard of PD when I caught them live back in 2013, but man, Winston McCall has one of the longest screams I've ever seen/heard live to date, it was really damm impressive!

@Nivsick I don't know about that, I recall the game doing *very well* financially at launch, but that the playerbase just dropped off a cliff as they realized the content just wasn't as much/deep as they thought it would be. Number from MMOstats.com

@Nivsick Genuinely haven't played a Bioware game since the demo for Dragon Age 2, so I wouldn't know! But I do recall being absolutely baffled that people were hyped at all for Anthem, even when the trailers were at their best, the game looked... Alright? Certainly not like a smash hit

@Nivsick It's not just the little things, audio can straight up make or break a scene. I often use the dragon 'reveal' scene from Dragon Age 2 to demonstrate that, the visuals are nice and all, but the soundscape is so weak that the scene just has no impact - at least in my opinion.

@Nivsick One of my favourite 'subtle audio design' details was how in Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood, whenever you were in a rainy level and stood still, you could hear the water drops hit your metal helmet. Such a little thing, but I paused to enjoy it more than once

@Dachsjaeger Dead Space 1 is the only horror game that ever made me dread continuing it. Absolutely my favourite horror game of all time

I really love the OG Dead Space - played it back then on my 8800 GT SLI PC and loved every minute of it. Also - I never had a problem with the asteroids section as I was on a mouse and found it rather intuitive!

@NoxiousLive Ever since I was a kid, can't put a specific number on it. My dad often said - and still says - "An economist is a person who tomorrow can tell you why what he said yesterday would happen today, didn't happen." Flows better in my language!

@NoxiousLive Funny how much a teacher can impact not just your enjoyment of a class, but also your success in it. Never forget an English teacher that I had for one year, who basically demanded I completely changed how I did my homework. I was so pissed, I got an A+ just to prove a point.

@Touyarokii @chuggaaconroy While I love the entire Cyndaquil line, Quilava will always be my favourite of the three, and it's not even close. Typhlosion, alas, is my least favourite of the three

We, as a society, need to talk about these three pokemon more in particular

@chuggaaconroy Technically speaking, if their backend isn't a complete mess, it would be trivial to set up Splatforms for years in advance, but I've honestly no idea how the source code for Splatoon looks, so... Your guess is as good as mine!

I've never understood why Splatfests need to end after 2 yrs. Could you not let a computer auto rerun Splatfests every month and tally the results itself? You could even give Europe themes to the US and vice-versa, since they'd be essentially new content & are already in English.

@Dachsjaeger May I recommend the 40k mod for Men of War: Assault Squad 2? There's a custom campaign mission in which you play as a Terminator tearing through T'au, and while it's not *amazing*, the mod is definitely worth a try, especially if you like spectacle RTSes!

Remember the incredible "You are Death Incarnate" level in WH 40K: Space Marine when you get access to a Thunder Hammer and Jumpack? What if they recreate that feeling again in the second game, but you are instead interred in a Dreadnought 👀

@niphette I honestly wasn't a fan of them until I opened one in person. No, that has nothing to do with the value of the card, but it looks so much better in person than it does as a purely digital frame

@Trentyn907 Jund is without a doubt my favourite colour combo, heck, it was how I fell in love with the game, and there's just... Barely any Jund commander that gets me excited? It's a shame
