For everybody confused……….. No contract or trade is official until the new league year which is tomorrow. So any team can pull a deal until tomorrow. Why……… I’ll leave that to the teams. I have a slight idea. All speculation though

Ravens doctors must have seen something in the player physical they didn't like. Usually why trades fall through but usually those physicals take place the day after a trade so not sure what took so long.

The NFL held committee meetings last week in Palm Beach and owners were updated on the status of talks with the NFL Referees Association on a new deal to replace the agreement expiring in May - and talks are said to not be in a good place, per sources. One source said “frustration is mounting” on the NFL side and among owners. The league has said in the past that it is is focused on changes that it believes will improve the performance of the on-field officials while the union wants to preserve the status quo or roll back in some cases the access the league has to work with the officials.

It's really weird that an executive for a team in this league is just openly talking about roster decisions of other teams and players. Personal opinion or not, most other leagues would consider this a huge no-no. Possibly even tampering adjacent. Surprised the CFLPA hasn't weighed in yet.

@cflcentral From an entertainment standpoint, another issue is that many pending FA are released early and sign with new teams before FA actually opens. If the league ever wants some sort of FA show, that needs to be fixed somehow

Wow: Ravens LB Kyle Van Noy is pushing for the NFL to change intentional grounding into a sack on the stat sheet for defenders. Kyle says defenders work too hard for quarterbacks to simply throw the ball away to avoid a sack, which costs defenders money. Titans DE Jeffery Simmons quoted the tweet in agreement. If this becomes a rule, expect Myles Garrett’s sack record to be broken sooner rather than later. Thoughts? 🤔

@CFL_News @Stewartjohnston @CFL Start by eliminating the sneak specialist. I don’t want to see guys holding roster spots when we know they’ll never be legit QBs in this league. That hurts development of the next wave of QBs. It’s not the only strategy, but is an easy first step.

Interesting to see what U SPORTS teams that play in CFL Stadiums do. U SPORTS teams that don’t play in CFL Stadiums would be reluctant, from a cost perspective, to shorten fields , move goal posts and re-stitch yard lines. In west 3 of 6 teams play in CFL stadiums and 3 don’t.

@CFL_Today I don’t at all see it necessary for them to follow suit. Collegiate sports often have significantly different rules than the pros. It’s not as if the skill sets being used will change.

Changing OT is curious. No ties last season (just one OT game), and just 2 ties in the last 8 CFL seasons. Taking it way back there have been *4 ties* since the start of the 2010 season. And with the 2027 rules diminishing field goals I'd be way less concerned with ties.

Two notable recommendations coming out of the @CFL rules committee on Tuesday: - The timing for final 3 minutes of a half will remain the same as it currently is, with the 20 second play clock (not the newly implemented 35 second clock). - There will no longer be ties. After two OT mini-games are completed, the teams will alternate plays from the 3 yard line. These changes still need to be approved by the BOG. @SportsCentre
