SKYWARN® is a voluntary program run by the National Weather Service (NWS) consisting of trained individuals who observe and report severe weather conditions, such as tornadoes, hail, and high winds, in real-time. These volunteers act as the "eyes and ears" for meteorologists, providing crucial ground-truth data that helps issue accurate, timely warnings to protect life and property.
