I think people are focusing too much on Enzo's goals. I keep hearing, "Who will replace him and score those goals?" Is that really how a team operates?
It's all about balance. Get the balance right, and goals will come from everywhere. For me, football is a game of balance.
If you are scoring a lot but still losing, you clearly have a major problem. To be honest, I believe Enzo Fernandez will unlock new levels under Alonso, but it has to be in the pivot as one of the two sixes.
We can never have an optimal, aggressive, and mobile counter-press or high press with Palmer and Enzo both playing in the pocket. It's a balance we need to find. We need to look beyond his goals to find the right balance for the team.

I couldn't agree more. Modern football teams don’t rely on one player alone for goals anymore. Structure, balance, spacing, collective pressing, and shared output matter far more in the long run. Elite teams are rarely built around one individual these days.
That’s why I think the bigger conversation should be about the team’s overall functionality and balance, not just one player’s goal output.
