@soandnb_ @Chibi22395 I really like Adventures, I think it's a really fun game when viewed through the lens of being another Rareware adventure game. That said it is very short and lacking compared to the others.
English

@RhysWilde @Chibi22395 I do wonder how much of that is because Adventures is bad and how much of it is because Fox wasn't in an Arwing, blowing up enemy groups and defrauding the Cornerian Army via asteroids. A lot of people seem to actually like Adventures, too.
English

I think the amount of people saying the Rare buyout is funny AF because even by the end of the N64, Rareware was showing the cracks in the armor that would lead to the mistakes they had a Microsoft. If anything, Nintendo dodged a bullet. Rare was past its prime imo 🤷♂️
MyTimeToShineHello@MyTimeToShineH
What was Nintendo's biggest mistake?

@LaidbackStrat PP actually rolls over into negatives and then into positives again if you wrap combo meaning it has infinite PP as long as the wrap doesn't miss when you have only 1 lol
English

@RhysWilde Yeah and you gotta run back to the Pokemon Center to stock back up on PP after three trainers in a new route.

Just beat Blue for the first time after spending my childhood playing FRLG, and anything from Gen 2 onwards since then. I never went back to Gen 1 because FRLG seemed so faithful.
There's a fundamentally different spirit in these games (even compared to FRLG) that is just gone.

What are your thoughts on Pokemon Red & Blue?
English

@LaidbackStrat Arbok with double team and wrap can kill any mon in the game regardless of level differential
English

@PineDraugr I feel like that's still kind of a big piece for discreet carry. Why not a Ruger LCP or something? You'll never need a ton of bullets or a long barrel in a self defense scenario.
English

Was in the micro compact carry gun rabbit hole for quite awhile. Needed something smaller than my Glock 19. Handling a baby during mass has gotten tricky when appendix carrying. Also wanted to hip carry for suit wear. Wanted something hammer fired, still in 9mm, and wasn’t a awful shooting gun being 9mm and small. That narrowed the list down a lot. I landed on the Smith & Wesson CSX E-series. Very neat gun. Feels great. Nothing but positive reviews. Can’t wait to shoot it.

@quinnisreading Word is too expensive? You can buy a key for like $40 and use it for over a decade.
English

@ratlobbers I watched every episode of this show as it aired and it fucking sucked. Terrible. 10/10
English

@coolporyg0n @bentrified It's crazy to even begin to bring this back into the public conscience when it happened almost 15 years ago
English

@bentrified vinny said slurs iirc as well as a Racially Charged impression of a black woman

Missed Star Fox Zero? That's your loss.
Not because it was flawless. It had real problems.
But because the people who actually put the time in got something most of you refused to even try.
The control system was excellent once you stopped treating it like a broken twin-stick game.
Motion aiming on the GamePad while steering with the stick created a completely different rhythm.
You had to actually lead shots.
You had to manage your movement and your targeting separately.
It rewarded practice in a way almost no other on-rails shooter has managed since.
The more you played, the more precise and expressive it felt.
It wasn't a gimmick.
It was a proper skill-based aiming system that most people never gave a real chance.
The loudest criticism almost always came from the same place: people who played for twenty minutes, got frustrated, and decided the whole game was broken.
They never adapted.
They never learned the rhythm.
They just confirmed their own bias and moved on.
Zero tried to evolve the formula instead of repeating it.
It used the Wii U hardware properly instead of ignoring it.
Some of the levels and set pieces were genuinely strong.
The co-op was fun.
The bosses had personality.
It had ambition.
And it got absolutely roasted for daring to be different.
Now we're all celebrating a 64 remake and a bunch of the same voices are acting like Zero was some embarrassing low point that proved the series can't try new things.
As if the problem was the attempt itself and not the fact that a huge chunk of the audience refused to meet it halfway.
You didn't want a new Star Fox game.
You wanted the one you already knew how to play perfectly on the first try.
Zero asked something from the player.
A lot of people decided that was unacceptable and review-bombed it into the ground before it ever had a real shot.
If you bounced off it after a short session and never went back, you didn't actually play Star Fox Zero.
You just tried it, got annoyed, and decided your first impression was the whole story.
The new 64 remake might be great.
I hope it is.
But some of us are still wondering what the series could have become if more people had been willing to actually engage with what Zero was doing instead of demanding it feel exactly like the game they already mastered twenty years ago.
Am I wrong, or did most of the people who called it a disaster never actually learn the aiming system?

@MAWKVLT Is this over the gifts feature being abused? iirc PayPal doesn't chare a service fee for that feature. Or is it something else?

@TrappyBun @riotgames Riot games has had dozens of people arrested for cheat manufacturing. This is nothing. Also the hardware is recoverable.
English

@riotgames "oh but it only stops you from playing games using vanguard anti-cheat" it already bricked a person's entire rig for having the gall to play deadlock btw, vanguard is a virus and anyone who willingly has it on their pc is a clown

congrats to the owners of a brand new $6k paperweight

Game: Valorant AC: Vanguard (VGK) Today’s Vanguard anti-cheat update blocked the majority of DMA firmwares using SATA/NVMe. VGK suddenly triggered an IOMMU restart warning in-game, after which the DMA firmware becomes completely unusable, even without the game running or after uninstalling Vanguard. Only fix is a full OS reinstall. It’s using IOMMU to create read blocks, which permanently breaks the majority of almost all SATA/NVMe firmwares once triggered. Even the advanced H2-board got affected. Confirmed Firmware Block wave by @ItsGamerDoc

@drewlevin For what it's worth, none of my lobby could connect to the game. ARAM Mayhem
Was dropped back to client menu after 5 minutes, no queue cooldown.
