A trans man from Idaho has given a devastating breakdown of their life under a potential “bathroom bill” that is up for vote. Nixon Matthews spoke at an 11 March hearing on House Bill 752, telling legislators: “I want to walk through what this looks like for me.” The bill passed on Monday (16 March) and is now headed to the Idaho Senate.

@helenstaniland @DocDeezWhat I’m afraid you don’t understand that your bigotry causes people like you to attack women for not looking feminine enough. It’s as though you think we all meet some standard of femininity and “you can always tell”.

@EmperoressTrans @BrandieWithABee @PopBase We can make your lives difficult And we will

@HSdead61913 @helenstaniland No, you can't disenfranchise trans people and tell them that they aren't who they are because you don't like it. You can't kick people out of the bathroom because you imagine they have the wrong genitals even though you have no idea. You are predatory for targeting trans people

🚨WATCH: A detransitioner tells the California State Assembly how his body "fell apart" after being put on estrogen and puberty blockers at the age of 13. "Nipple leakage, brain fog, chest pain, depression. I was urinating blood and had ulcers in my bladder and was too weak to attend school," Johnny Skinner said. "When I told my doctor how sick I was, he looked at me and said, welcome to womanhood." Skinner made the comments while testifying against AB 1876, a bill that would prohibit insurers from denying or limiting coverage for so-called "gender-affirming care." "This bill forces insurance companies to fund this cruel homophobia. It continues the lie that some children are born in the wrong body. Vote no," Skinner added.
