Nintendo has always been behind in graphics but its selling point in succeeding being the exclusives, take that away and you have yourself an Xbox

The one time Xbox stopped doing that, other platforms did not follow suit. So yeah, like said, no shit it "didn't work" And I don't even view that as a problem. In this hypothetical scenario, if you design a machine that bets on a selling point that doesn't pay off, that's on you.
