@Skkyyyyyyyyyyy @StocksGazb @danielrpopper Not me, I loved Alt just loved Malik Nabers more. Totally different than this. I’m not doubting Slaughter is capable of changing positions, I’m saying it’s not great team building waiting until 63 to fill starting spot. We’ll see if it works.
English

The #Chargers have emerged from Day 2 of the draft with their two biggest needs filled and a fully restocked cupboard of picks.
The process from general manager Joe Hortiz has been very sound.

English

@kcaj_backwards @alexinsdorf99 So you’re saying they have or have not filled their holes?
I guess we’ll see, but in the NIL era and in this particularly weak draft class, Day 3 picks are even less likely to hit.
English

@RichMiron @alexinsdorf99 The coaches/staff has literally said they do not value OGs. Those “giant holes” are not viable options, but if you have paid an ounce of attention, you will know that’s probably what we’re gonna get
English

@StocksGazb @danielrpopper Nobody said Alt couldn’t do it. They said Malik Nabers was a bigger need at the time. This is different, this is reaching on a player nobody had rated 63rd and stuffing him into the starting lineup. I like Slaughter, just think it’s risky banking on late 2nd round pick.
English

@RichMiron @danielrpopper I have no blind allegiance, I’m just saying give the kid a shot. Everyone cried when we took Joe alt to play RT and said he couldn’t do it. Turns out he was a stud
English

@boltzgang @danielrpopper How did that go last year?
We’ll see if it works and I hope it does, but to act like it’s all good after reaching for a player nobody had ranked 63 overall and stuffing him right into the starting lineup just seems like a bad idea imo
English

@RichMiron @danielrpopper Bro guard is the easiest position in football to learn. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist
English

@StocksGazb @danielrpopper Blind allegiance to every move they make may work for you, but banking on the 63rd pick to fill a gaping hole isn’t great for me.
I hope Slaughter is the exception to the rule, but players taken that late should not be counted on as a Day 1 starter.
English

@RichMiron @danielrpopper Yall did the same fucking crying when we drafted Joe alt to move to RT
English

@alexinsdorf99 Report I heard said McCoy needs a surgery that could be career ending. 😳

@AsaboltsAlex @danielrpopper I’m not saying he can’t be a starter. I’m saying he shouldn’t be counted on as a starter on Day 1. Hopefully he earns the job.
English

@RichMiron @danielrpopper Go check around the league, Guard especially has much later than 2nd rounders. Who are day 1 starters…
English

@cmsinclair I just think the entire offseason strategy sucks. But here’s the beauty of it, they can go out and prove me wrong. I hope they do, but it’s not a great offseason. Sorry. Only reason for optimism is two injured players returning and an assistant coach.
English

@Reed22LarryA @cmsinclair I could’ve bought it if they took Pregnon or Dunker in 3rd when they were both there to take. It would’ve all made sense and come together. That second trade down in a weak draft for seven picks on Day 3 is so suspect.
English

@cmsinclair @RichMiron 2/
Pregnon is strictly a Guard & doesn’t carry value as a Center.
Remember, your backups & depth players become more valuable to you if they can play multiple positions particularly OLmen because now you can carry 8 instead of 9 & free up an extra roster spot.
English

He’s such a Steeler it fits
Tom Pelissero@TomPelissero
The Steelers select Iowa OL Gennings Dunker at No. 96.
English

Contributors Joe Hortiz took on Day 3 in his first two drafts with #Chargers: Tarheeb Still, Cam Hart, Kimani Vidal, Oronde Gadsden, Justin Eboigbe, RJ Mickens, KeAndre Lambert-Smith
Daniel Popper@danielrpopper
With two trades down today, #Chargers now have seven Day 3 picks: 4-105 4-123 4-131 5-145 6-202 6-204 6-206
English

@JasonLSwitzer Move those guys down. Here’s my lineup:

LF Laureano
1B Sheets
C Campy
DH Andujar
2B Tatis
3B Machado
RF Castellanos / Crone
English

Padres follow suit, flip Machado & Tatis Jr

English

@Reed22LarryA @cmsinclair Honestly, I don’t mean to be negative but I don’t get the thinking. They need seven players on Day 3? They had Pregnon right there!
English

@cmsinclair @RichMiron Yes sir,
Right after another CB pick in front of them. 🤔
English

@danielrpopper This offseason strategy is so suspect. Trading back multiple times in a draft universally considered devoid of talent is hard to figure.
English

With two trades down today, #Chargers now have seven Day 3 picks:
4-105
4-123
4-131
5-145
6-202
6-204
6-206
English

@StevenIHaglund Appreciate the honesty.
If Hortiz is right, and it all works, great.
If not, they can’t trust him in 2027.
English

Aside from my own dislike of the film... the Chargers needed a legitimate starting LG right now and I am not confident they got that player. Slaughter as a backup center option in round 4 would have been fine but this is definitely a head scratcher for me. Pregnon and Dunker were right there man!
