Rishi Sunak said today at #PMQs that rising NHS waiting lists is down to industrial action. Well how about the last 13 years of rising waiting lists?

Hang on; So whilst this government were pushing their woeful 5% offer in the negotiating room, they had the DDRB report calling for >6%?! Bad faith doesn’t even begin to cover it! Tell me that’s not ridiculous.

Getting diagnosed with ADHD as an adult is...impossible. Luke is going private (which is SO MUCH money) and we can really only afford for him to get assessed right now, so I'm going to my GP to get on the waiting list for assessment. This is mental.

@EdanStarforth @KirstyChallen @techpriest I agree, but the stealing was punished in court already. Regarding the dishonesty aspect, as soon as they were found out they admitted everything. Lots of people will try to pull a fast one from time to time but I don’t think it justifies a suspension from practice

@RichMorris63 @KirstyChallen @techpriest I don’t disagree that there’s a line here somewhere (I’m not sure where it is). I’m just not sure regular theft of train tickets is that dissimilar to regular theft of something else.

@EdanStarforth @KirstyChallen @techpriest Stealing from your place of work, when it happens to be a hospital, makes a lot more sense for the GMC to get involved IMO. Never streamed a movie, borrowed a Netflix, got your kids a cheaper (younger) ticket? We’d be suspending the majority of the profession

@KirstyChallen @techpriest There will always be hypothetical situations that create some debate, but this case relates to a real person and is black and white to the vast majority, hence the uproar. We’ll have about 5 doctors left if we suspend everyone who shares a Netflix password/streams a film/sport

@RichMorris63 @techpriest Ok that's a reasonable distinction. What about "borrowing" mess funds to pay your own bills? Closer to the NHS but still no direct impact on patients.

@KirstyChallen @techpriest Fraudulently calling in sick directly impacts patient care, therefore reasonable for the GMC to get involved in that situation. This has no impact on patient care and has already been punished with a fine. No need for any GMC involvement whatsoever

@techpriest I'm conflicted. This was persistent deliberate dishonesty for which he was appropriately convicted. Does it benefit the public for him to be suspended? What about the doc that did 3 locums while off sick from another hospital? Where's the line? Genuine qu.
