@PierreVLeBrun@TheAthletic The Sabres didn’t “win” game 4. The Habs lost it. Including about the flukiest goal you’ll ever see. It wasn’t gritty, it was lucky.
NEW for @TheAthletic, the Habs are the younger team but entered this series with an edge over the Sabres in playoff experience by virtue of last year. Buffalo’s gritty Game 4 win, however, could just be the kind of moment that helps even out that learning curve. ⤵️

Bob Seger is better than Bruce Springsteen. I don’t know how many of you are joining me on this island but I feel like it will be 50% geniuses and 50% guys who make women instinctively lock their car doors.
@amato_mike@GoaliePost I took a quick look at the
Last 8 or so drafts they had an opportunity to draft all of the following: Hart, Gustafsson, Woll, Oettinger, Ukka Pella Lukonen, Dostal, Knight, Kochetkov
I'm not even sure how they've done it because it's been such a low bar, but somehow the Oilers goaltending has managed to get significantly worse in each of the past three postseasons:
2024 - .902
2025 - .888
2026 - .867
“…It’s becoming a distraction. I have been fully committed to this team, to the city, and it’s just becoming a distraction and frustrating to deal with.”
Brady Tkachuk shoots down speculation over his future in Ottawa, again. @TheAthleticNHLnytimes.com/athletic/72392…
@NHL@GoaliePost For credibility’s sake the NHL should compile a short list created by people who actually watch and understand hockey and then hand that off to the GMs for them to vote on.
I don’t know who this guy is, but he basically did his own unofficial pop up show on the 2nd floor mezzanine of The Cuban Club last night in Tampa. He was awesome.
@seangentille@ArponBasu Both Holland and Bowman and demonstrably terrible at their jobs. You can trot out all the data you want about xG or bad D or whatever. The fact that they’ve had the goaltending they’ve had for the entirety of McDavid’s prime is just gross buffoonery.
Kris Knoblauch sounds like a guy considering a goalie swap. Makes sense. Predictable. Not his fault.
It also underscores just how badly the Edmonton Oilers have managed their situation at the sport's most important position.

@amato_mike@GoaliePost Carter Hart has never been able to read plays at the NHL level. He’s athletic. But he’s a below to well below average NHL goalie.
