Randy Savage and WWE had been estranged for nearly 17 years. In January 2011 he filmed a short promo for the WWE All Stars video game at his home in Florida. It was his first WWE-related work since 1994. His brother Lanny later revealed in an interview that Randy refused to leave the house and insisted the crew come to him. If they would not film it at his home, it would not be filmed at all. This promo led to speculation that perhaps, his relationship with WWE was improving but Savage passed away a few months later.
