Under pressure, people don't rise to the occasion, they fall to the level of their training

@PlayerGaelic Yes. And we’ll be in for a week of it as there isn’t any football next weekend, there isn’t anything else to talk about. Teams will come up with ways of counteracting it and the more innovative ones will succeed, leading to a better overall game

@RosscoDelboy @GAALeagueTables If Limerick win and Sligo lose Limerick stay up, no?

**extremely Marvel Cinematic Universe voice**
🔴An Zón Rua🔴will return...
16 Games, 29 counties still playing for something, only one "dead rubber"!
GAA League Tables will be live-streaming the tables for Round 7 of the Allianz Football Leagues.
In 2024 and 2025 this account hosted over 100,000 viewers through 10,000,000 minutes of watch time across ten red zones. What were they even watching? A live spreadsheet - isn't that mad????
Anyway, will be back, here on X, at 12.55pm on Sunday 22d March!

@DavidMa43224269 @JohnFogartyIrl Have you got any data to back up your claim about the injury count increasing?
English

@JohnFogartyIrl If that is the case the inter county game will have no choice but go proffesional because these players cannot continue to put their bodies through it in such a short period
It’s just not possible and the injury count in the inter county game keeps increasing

August All-Ireland final motion is doomed. #GAA column: irishexaminer.com/sport-columnis…

@willocallaghan Jeez Will that beard is like something out of Covid times
English

@willocallaghan Will, a question for the hurling pod when it returns: has Paddy Leavey ever hand passed the sliotar?
English

@amazingmap I see the Croatians keeping the Bosnians landlocked is a tradition
English

@higginsdavidw It doesn’t impact Europe, therefore we don’t care. We should, of course, but we have limited emotional and intellectual capital for global events

The silence on Sudan sadly reflects the reality of human attention. Max attention on Gaza for two full years means there's little left in the tank to care about a new conflict. Even if the human suffering is on par or worse.
Helen McEntee TD@HMcEntee
Violence against women and girls is being used as a weapon of war in Sudan. The conflict has already taken more than 150,000 lives and forced over 12 million people from their homes.

@TullMcAdoo He comes out with a few strange ones these days too. He really annoys me

In better sporting news however, @BrayWanderers scored this beauty of a goal to advance to a promotional playoff next week against Waterford. One more win and they’ll be in the premier League and, even better, the next EAFC game.
League of Ireland@LeagueofIreland
Justin Ferizaj take a bow! 👏 An unbelievable finish on the 90 minute mark which looks to be the enough to send Bray Wanderers into the Relegation/Promotion Play-off final!

@Footy1492 @gavreilly @morningireland @VirginMediaNews I doubt he’s worried about somebody who can barely muster up 20 nominations, if the Independent Oireachtas members don’t think she’s worthy the electorate won’t either
English

@gavreilly @morningireland @VirginMediaNews It was reported on Newstalk that Michael Martin has contacted all his party members again to double down on his threats to party members about signing Maria Steen. Why is he so worried about her?????

@hill178364 @ruairijfahy As for your definition of the Ethnic Irish, all of those characteristics are social constructs rather than set in stone. Therefore the country’s demographics are fluid and will constantly change over time
English

@hill178364 @ruairijfahy The addition of different types of food, of music, of dance, etc. is a positive. If we only had trad music and bacon and cabbage it would be fairly boring. We can celebrate our Irishness and also welcome in new ideas and cultures, we don’t have to be like Japan and closed off
English

And there we have it. Ireland has overtaken another EU member state, in population, for the first time. At current trends, Finland will be overtaken in 2028. (And maybe Scotland in 2027, just about.)

Ronan Lyons@ronanlyons
Ireland has never overtaken another EU member state in population since it joined 50 years ago. But based on current trends, Ireland should surpass Slovakia in 2025 and Finland in 2027. (Denmark and Bulgaria would be next but probably not until the 2030s.)
English

@ruairijfahy It’s always good to answer the question in your own words rather than hiding behind some documents
English

@RichardClune7 @ronanlyons Read our Declaration of Independence or the Irish constitution for some ideas. Or is that old hat now in the globalist borderless world?
English

@hill178364 @ruairijfahy I think that makes for a fairly boring country after a few generations. What’s your definition of ethnic Irish? I think if I go back 4/5 generations I’ve got some French lineage, am I Irish enough for you? What about somebody born to one Irish parent, are they ethnically Irish?
English

@RichardClune7 @ruairijfahy @ronanlyons A country where the ethnic Irish are by far the largest ethnicity.
English

@ruairijfahy @ronanlyons What is an Irish nation for an Irish people? What are its characteristics?
English

@ronanlyons What country do we plan to become with all this immigration from outside the EU and UK? Because one can be sure with current trends it will not be an Irish nation for an Irish people.
English

@kevinmarkham Macreddin? If not we’ve got a spot very similar to that
