Conservatives have complained for years about leftist control of universities, but never actually did anything about it. Our overhaul of New College in Sarasota re-centered the college on the solid intellectual foundations of merit, free speech, classical learning and the pursuit of truth. Far from creating a new bubble, the reforms will ensure that New College will live up to what Florida law envisions it to be: the top honors college in the state (which will make it the best public liberal arts college in America).

Free speech should be a university’s #1 principle. New College is a place where all ideas are welcome, no matter how unpopular.

Liberal arts don’t belong to the past, they shape the future. New College of Florida’s President Richard Corcoran explains why.

Today, we announced that we will commission a statue of Charlie Kirk to honor his legacy and incredible work after his tragic assassination last week. The statue, privately funded by community leaders, will stand on campus as a commitment by New College to defend and fight for free speech and civil discourse in American life. The location for the statue will be announced in the coming months.
