Look at these #Immigrants coming over working in our #NHS, risking their lives fighting #COVID19 & saving millions of lives, which include our families & friends. How dare they... RT if you are forever indebted to these amazing #NHS workers.

@MerielMyers The Royal Family is an extremely worthy institution. What would Netflix be, without it?

Do you think the Royal Family are a worthy institution or would you like to see them abolished?

@BrexitBin @Den2000 Far, far too late. Should have been said, way before 2016, and taught in our schools. And it’s not only the Tories who have been guilty in blaming the EU and Johnny Foreigner, for all our failings. The plague is now on all our houses, and not just Covid-19

@Andrew_Adonis Boris Johnson could talk about ovens being ready, I suppose; that and something about levelling the north and south down to the ground, would take another 5 minutes.

@CliveWismayer @agirlandme I would respectfully suggest that if you do, indeed, know that person back in Blighty well, you should equally respectfully suggest that they change newspapers and listen to @mrjamesob each weekday morning

Just spoke to someone I know well back in Blighty. They were completely unaware of what’s coming down the line at the end of this month. I wonder how many more remain in the dark & what a shock they are in for. Suggests the media is not doing its job.

Don't blame the French, we haven't voted for #Brexit.

@DMinghella If it wasn’t for my vested interest, i would consider the value in our crashing out without a deal a price worth paying to bring home the madness of Brexit and silence, hopefully forever, Britannia exceptionalism and xenophobia.

And not just economically, also politically: the UK government is openly hostile towards Europe, and that hostility became a mandatory pledge for all Tory MP candidates. There is a case, then, for the EU ignoring a hostile 3rd country, until such time as the government changes.

I salute the EU. They have 450 million people. That is a massive market within which to accommodate the loss of UK trade. It must be SO tempting to walk out of talks, let the UK stew in its own juices for six months or a year, and only then see if there's a deal to be struck.

@mrjamesob @JohnShirleyLtd @JohnShirleyLtd is bang on, which is why I am convinced that we will agree a deal (thin) but also a further transition period of at least 3 months; this will be sold as time to ratify, but will, in reality, be because we are simply not nearly ready to implement border checks

My regular contributor @JohnShirleyLtd, who runs a freight forwarding company in Dover, has been explaining this stuff to me & my listeners for *years*. It’s clear that people like Peter Bone are either intellectually or psychologically incapable of understanding. Probably both.

@JohnJCrace In my day, Gavin Williamson would have been made to stand in the corner, wearing a dunce’s hat. These days, dullards like him are feted, promoted and rewarded. Is this what is known as ‘care in the community?’

@PeterPaxton @jjoefowler @tnewtondunn @TimesRadio Not me. All I know is that this country is dependent on the kindness of foreigners and that we are not self determining when it comes to the cost of money, beyond existing instruments

@jjoefowler @RichardRoss56 @tnewtondunn @TimesRadio We are not talking about the bond mkt, especially in UK where funding is short date, not long date like U.S mortgages. Bonds in UK can go where they want without touching base rates. Who took this conversation to the bond mkt, anyway?

New: Britain's £400bn deficit will become unaffordable if interest rates rise, the Chancellor has warned. The UK is "much more sensitive" to rate rises because of the size of its debt burden, Rishi Sunak tells @TimesRadio. It's his starkest public warning yet on borrowing (1)

Gavin Williamson saying we’re much better than everyone else is the essence of Brexit Britain. Raw stupidity, prejudice and inadequacy boasting about its greatness. The few that are still listening are just feeling pity.

@jjoefowler @PeterPaxton @tnewtondunn @TimesRadio As further borrowing is required, the rate of interest on the new debt is determined by the perceived risk. Accordingly, lenders decide the interest rate on a risk/reward basis

@chantal_oiseau Filed my application for a French passport 2 weeks ago. Benefits will be enormous, including, apparently, carte blanche (sic) to take extra lovers. What’s there to stop you, S’tu ?
