Earthset. The Artemis II crew captured this view of an Earthset on April 6, 2026, as they flew around the Moon. The image is reminiscent of the iconic Earthrise image taken by astronaut Bill Anders 58 years earlier as the Apollo 8 crew flew around the Moon.

To summarize last 72 hrs: -Russia smuggles in anti-air systems to Iran. Iran then shots down a plane whose 1st flight was before I was born -US flies slow moving rescue planes into the *middle* of Iran & retrieves 1 pilot -Simultaneously, we *built an airstrip inside Iran* 🧵

Location of the USAF forward base set up deep within Iran for the F-15 crew rescue mission. The base was set up just outside of Isfahan, a critical Iranian strategic hub with missile and army bases, nuclear facilities, and the airbase home to Iran’s F-14 fleet.

🚨 BREAKING via NYT: An Air Force officer whose fighter jet had been shot down in Iran was rescued by U.S. Special Operations forces in a risky Saturday night mission that took commandos deep into enemy territory. A senior U.S. military official described the mission to rescue the airman as one of the most challenging and complex in the history of U.S. special operations. The mission to save the crew member employed hundreds of special forces troops, dozens of U.S. warplanes, helicopters, and cyber, space and other intelligence capabilities. U.S. attack aircraft dropped bombs and opened fire on Iranian convoys to keep them away from the area where the airman was hiding. As U.S. forces converged on the downed airman, a firefight erupted, two former senior military officials briefed on the operation said. The airman was equipped with a beacon and a secure communication device for coordinating with forces mounting the rescue. A senior U.S. military official described the mission to rescue the airman as one of the most challenging and complex in the history of U.S. special operations. In a final twist after the weapons officer was rescued, two transport planes that would carry the commandos and the airmen to safety got stuck at a remote base in Iran. Commanders decided to fly in three new planes to extract all the U.S. military personnel and the airmen, and they blew up the two disabled planes rather than have them fall into Iranian hands.

Alabama airman and father of 3, Major Alex Klinner, identified as one of the six Americans who was killed when a KC-135 crashed in Iraq. Klinner was a father to a two-and-a-half-year-old and seven-month-old twins. His wife, Libby, posted the following on Instagram: “On March 12, our world shattered. Alex and his crew were on the plane that crashed in Iraq. I'm devastated to lose the best person I know, the person that made everything more fun, my best friend. But even more so, my heart is broken for our three kids who will grow up not knowing him. They won't get to see firsthand the way he would jump up to help in any way he could. They won't see how goofy and funny he was. They won't witness his selflessness, the way he thought about everyone else before himself. They won't get to feel the deep love he had for them. He was an incredible person and husband, but he was the best dad. It still doesn't feel real. I keep thinking that I'll get a text from him saying 'Sorry honey! Didn't mean to scare you' and everything will be alright. Because Alex always made everything alright. We just moved to a new home and we had so many exciting plans in the next few years. Now we are left to navigate the void left in our hearts. Thank you to everyone who has reached out. Your words mean more than you know. These are some of the last photos we have together before he deployed. He was crushed that he had to leave us. I'Il forever remember this heartbreaking goodbye.” I am linking the GoFundMe below that was launched by Klinner’s sister-in-law, Sarah Rose Harrill. Heartbreaking. Videos: libbyklinnerteaching / ig.

NEW: Adm. Brad Cooper: "You may have heard the President say, just a little while ago, that we have sunk or destroyed 24 ships. That was true at the moment. We're now up over 30 ships. And in just the last few hours, we hit an Iranian drone carrier ship, roughly the size of a World War II aircraft carrier. And as we speak, it's on fire."

“You are the shield of the free world, and today, you are its sharpest sword.” 🫡 🇺🇸
OSINTdefender@sentdefender

Letter reportedly sent by Adm. Brad Cooper, the Commander of U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), to American servicemembers across the Middle East on February 28, 2026, prior to the start of strikes against Iran as part of Operation Epic Fury: To America's extraordinary sons and daughters deployed around the Middle East, By order of the President of the United States, we are embarking on a mission of profound consequence. The time for preparation is over. The time for action has arrived. As we move from deterrence into active combat, I write to tell you how honored I am to serve with you - the most exceptional Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, Airmen, Guardians and Coast Guardsmen on this earth. Some of you are stationed in the Middle East. Many of you have deployed overseas on short notice. Others have been extended on deployment for this critical mission. You represent the strongest, most lethal warfighting force the world has ever known. You all selflessly serve our great country and make us so very PROUD. Since 1979, the Iranian Regime has killed and wounded thousands of Americans, and they continue to threaten Americans and our friends. Today, by your courage and grit, you will change the course of human history. My guidance for you is simple: - Be Relentlessly Lethal. In the heat of conflict, remember who you are. Let your conduct be as professional as your aim is precise. - Take Care of Your Teammates. The men and women on your flanks, in front of you and those at your six are your Guardian Angels. Be theirs. - Steady Your Resolve. Combat is inherently chaotic. The hours, days and perhaps weeks ahead will challenge you. There will be noise and confusion. Fall back on your training. It is the best in the world. You are the shield of the free world, and today, you are its sharpest sword. As the eyes of the world fix upon us, stay safe, and GODSPEED.

.@SECWAR Direct Message to the Joint Force: “This is your moment. This is the generational turning point America has waited for since 1979 — and since the rudderless wars of hubris my generation endured. Don’t listen to the noise; just stay focused. Our commander-in-chief is steady at the wheel. We face a determined enemy, but you are better. But we must prove it. History doesn’t care if you’re tired, if you’re scared, if the fight feels big. It demands warriors who rise anyway. Peace Through Strength. The Warrior Ethos. Lethality. Unity of Purpose. These aren’t slogans — they are the beating heart of what it means to wear this uniform. You think clearly under fire. You act decisively in chaos. You uphold the Constitution and you uphold your country without hesitation. We are not defenders anymore — we are warriors, trained to kill the enemy and break their will. History is watching. Be the force you swore to be: focused, disciplined, lethal, and unbreakable. We will finish this on America First conditions of President Trump’s choosing — nobody else’s. As it should be. And know this above all: President Trump and I have your back — always. Through fire, through criticism, through criticism, through fake news, through everything. We unleashed you because you are the best, most powerful, most lethal fighting force the world has ever seen. “May Almighty God watch over you, and may His providential arms of protection extend over you. GODSPEED WARRIORS—and keep going.”
